Position Summary

Responsible for maintaining and improving the inventory management system used to control and value inventory necessary to support the Coventry, CT, and Mansfield, MA, manufacturing operations. This position also provides analysis of operations variances resulting from manufacturing activity at the Company local locations, and provides financial support to site, OEM, and company functions.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Establishes and monitors accurate standard costs
•    Completes annual inventory standard cost updates, coordinating with global finance functions
•    Analyzes manufacturing variances on a monthly basis
•    Reviews direct labor and overhead absorption and produces analysis for management
•    Maintains the site fixed asset system and Maintain the PEA’s (capital requests) both internal and external to the automated Teleflex system
•    Assists in the preparation of budgets for the Company’s manufacturing operations and related presentations
•    Aids in the maintenance of the Sarbanes Oxley requirements
•    Completes site month-end closings, annual profit plans, and other projects as needed
•    Performs monthly GL account reconciliations
•    Maintains the site balance sheet accounts
•    Maintains the factory manufacturing metrics
•    Assist the Controller as required
•    Maintain the manufacturing variance report and provide operational support for the monthly review meetings.               
•    Leads the site annual physical inventory activities
•    Provides purchasing support within SAP for multiple OEM sites
•    Provides similar accounting role for manufacturing activities at the Coventry, CT, and Mansfield, MA sites
 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting or equivalent experience
•    Minimum 4 years of inventory and general accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
•    Proficiency in reading and interpreting financial documents
•    Must have the ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner to employees at all levels of the organization
•    Possess a high level of competency with Microsoft Excel. Must also be proficient with Outlook and other Microsoft Office tools (Word, Powerpoint, etc. 
•    Experience in an SAP environment is a plus
•    Strong analytical and quantitative skills
•    Self-starter with ability to perform with little day-to-day oversight
