Vascular Access – Built on a history of innovation, our Arrow® brand of technically advanced vascular access devices are renowned throughout the world. Position Summary

Supervise and coordinate the activities of the tool room personnel in order to achieve optimum productivity, quality and on-time delivery in the most cost-effective and safe manner. Support tool room operations in Chihuahua, MX as well as tooling requests from other BU’s within Teleflex. 

Principal Responsibilities

•    Supervise Tool and Die makers, machinists and assistants in the manufacturing of complex tools, molds and machines, assuring conformance with engineering specifications.
•    Evaluate work requests, define manufacturing methods, estimate job times and costs, order tooling materials and supplies, assign personnel, set job priorities and communicate estimated completion dates in accordance with good manufacturing process planning procedures.
•    Record and monitor all tool room requests utilizing JobBoss job tracking software. 
•    Track and maintain on time delivery to an acceptable predetermined level by using the JobBoss job tracking software and communication with the customers.
•    Track, expedite and document the status of jobs in progress; capture and record data on completed jobs for use in department performance metrics using the JobBoss software. 
•    Interface with manufacturing, engineering, tool room personnel and vendors concerning tool debugging, tool design, equipment purchases, outside machining services, CAD/CAM systems and operator training. 
•    Advise Tooling Services customers on the status of their jobs through verbal and e-mail contact with electronic or printed reports generated by the JobBoss software. 
•    Maintain good employee relations and up to date records monitoring performance, attendance and PTO for all employees, as well as disciplines for tool room employee. 
•    Assure efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, streamlining of processes and elimination of wasteful practices.
•    Maintain and ensure a constant workload split between manufacturing and development along with on-time delivery to meet predetermined levels.
•    Evaluate new machine shop technologies and implement them as necessary.
•    Rely on lead tool room personnel to support the above-mentioned objectives.
•    Ensure that all employees, equipment, materials and areas of operation conform to appropriate health and safety regulations.
•    Adhere to and ensure the compliance of Teleflex’s Code of Ethics, all company policies, rules, procedures and good housekeeping standards. 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Minimum Associates degree in machine tool technology or Journeyman Tool and Die Maker Certification

 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Journeyman Tool and Die Makers certificate a plus
•    Working knowledge of job tracking software
•    2 plus years of experience with utilization of job tracking software (ie; JobBoss, E2)
•    Experience with Agile to look up the latest revisions of drawings.
•    Creating PO requisitions in SAP for tooling and supply orders.
•    Interface directly with the Chihuahua tool room team and support their current and future operations.

•    Up to 5% travel rquired to Chihuahua.
