Interventional – The Interventional business unit at Teleflex develops innovative medical devices used to diagnose and treat coronary and peripheral vascular diseases. We focus strategically on coronary and peripheral interventions, vascular and bone access, and large-bore closure solutions.

Our portfolio includes a broad range of clinically relevant products, such as the GuideLiner™ and Turnpike™ Catheters; the Orsiro™ Mission™ Drug-Eluting Stent; the PK Papyrus™ Covered Coronary Stent; the Ringer™ Perfusion Balloon Catheter; the Pulsar™ -18 T3 Self-Expanding Stent; Passeo™  Balloon Catheters; and the OnControl™ Powered Bone Access System.

Position Summary

The President and General Manager, Interventional Business Unit provides strategic and operational leadership for the business, with full accountability for growth, profitability, and overall performance. This role develops and executes the business strategy, establishes short- and long-term objectives, and ensures the successful implementation of initiatives that drive sustainable growth. Partnering closely with executive leadership and key stakeholders, the President and General Manager maintains P&L responsibility, aligns organizational priorities, and is accountable for the development and implementation of a winning business strategy that achieves the organization's financial, operational, and strategic goals.  This job will be located at a Teleflex facility, however depending on business needs Teleflex may consider remote candidates.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Co-own overall Teleflex business and commitments along with the rest of the executive Leadership Team
•    Build an engaged global workforce, with a culture that builds capability, drives performance, and reflects the Teleflex Core Values and Leadership Standards; lead by example by personally modeling these behaviors 
•    With intentionality, develop leadership succession pipelines and champion a focus for talent development, both for the global BU as well as for the broader Teleflex organization
•    Own global BU P&L and accountable for achieving associated financial metrics
•    Responsible for driving BU investment trade-off decisions to optimize growth and profitability, balancing commercial (sales & marketing), HCP training & education, new product development, evidence generation, sustaining engineering, cost improvement projects, etc.   
•    Develop and execute BU go-to-market strategy worldwide; accountable for setting and achieving BU regional sales and operating expense metrics (where appropriate, responsible for collaborating and aligning with other BUs on shared resources/expenses)
•    Develop appropriate pipeline (NPD, clinical evidence, service & solutions, etc.) to drive future growth; responsible for BU portfolio optimization and execution of milestones 
•    Partner with Corp Development to identify and assess external opportunities (partnerships, acquisitions, divestitures) to enhance the BU portfolio and its growth/profitability; responsible for market evaluation expertise, conviction to go-forward recommendations, and to executing to deal model BU financials  
•    Partner with the Global Supply Chain (GSC) organization to ensure the right products reach our customers when they need them; responsible for timely and accurate BU product forecasting worldwide 
•    With GSC, align on, and support, appropriate portfolio of BU cost improvement projects; co-own delivery to associated milestones and financial commitments and responsible for allocating necessary BU resources for aligned portfolio
•    Partner with centralized functions (QARA, legal, compliance, etc.) to assess, manage, and address key BU business risks; responsible for driving aligned recommendations that appropriately balance risk and ability to meet business objectives 
•    Partner with global functions on enterprise initiatives that will enhance Teleflex’s ability to meet overall commitments; responsible for highlighting, and problem-solving, potential BU deceleration challenges and for allocating necessary resources on aligned programs

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
•    15 years in Medical Device field with a clear career progression of increased responsibility with experience in a commercial function of the organization  

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Deep domain expertise and demonstrated success in Interventional markets
•    Knowledge and relationships with key US go-to-market stakeholders—large customers, IDNs/GPOs, KOLs 
•    Experience with Class 3 PMA products and large, data-intensive clinical trials
•    Experience with approvals of novel/breakthrough devices, including the FDA panel process and CMS reimbursement processes
