Position Summary

The primary responsibility of this role is managing all aspects of HR Operations and Compliance creating a center of excellence to support the US/Canada region. 

Principal Responsibilities

Working with the Director, Global Benefits, HR Operations and Compliance, set the strategy and direct the planning and administration of effective and efficient HR compliance and HR operations. A diligent and experienced manager responsible for ensuring the company operates in accordance with HR legal and regulatory requirements, as well as internal HR policies and procedures. The role requires the Manager to have a strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.   

HR Compliance

In partnership with our external compliance consultant, will be responsible for managing all HR compliance and reporting for the organization, related to Teleflex as a U.S. Federal Contractor, including but not limited to Affirmative Action Plan data maintenance and reporting, EEO-1 and Vets reporting and filings, specific state filings, as well as manage federal, state, and local labor law posters for each location. Serve as a subject matter expert and liaises with HR, employee relations and legal.  

•    Manage and support US state and federal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Affirmative Action Program (AAP) obligations, including government reporting and OFCCP audits.
•    Partner closely with key stakeholders on audit preparation/support, communication, and responses to the Department of Labor (DOL) an Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP).
•    Conduct periodic and cyclical audits to assess the effectiveness of HR programs in meeting compliance standards.
•    Ensure HR policies and practices comply with applicable employment laws and regulations including LOAs, FMLA, and ADA processes.
•    Implement and enforce records retention policies.
•    Manage and maintain I-9 and OIG (Office of Inspector General) requirements.
•    Provide leadership and coordination cross-functionally to ensure proper accountability of all HR compliance topics, including guidance and training to HR.
•    Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may impact HR’s operations including SOX controls.
 

Principal Responsibilities, cont.

HR Operations

Responsible for managing the day-to-day HR operational functions for US/Canada, enforcing company policies and procedures by developing control systems to prevent violations of internal policies and procedures.
•    I-9 and OIG (Office of Inspector General) requirements
•    Unemployment administrations and compliance
•    Program design, benchmarking and administration related to HR programs including tuition reimbursement, service awards, car allowance and severance.
•    Ensure proper processes and SOP instructions are followed in all business units for programs including but not limited to tuition reimbursement, employee referral bonuses, car allowance, making updates to SOPs and streamlining processes when applicable.
•    Works closely with HRIS group on data and process automation. Suggests system enhancements to improve operational excellence and employee experience.
•    Drive process optimization by assessing current state processes, identifying, and understanding trends and desired future state and making recommendations for continuous process improvement.
•    Use best practices and methodologies to develop robust internal controls.
•    Oversee and manage the company’s severance process to ensure there is adherence to the policies and procedures in partnership with HR, legal, and business leaders.

Mergers, Acquisitions, and HR Initiatives

•    Lead HR compliance and HR operations tasks, specifically HR policies and operations.
•    Work with the HR team to scale practices and processes during growth.
•    Lead and support HR Compliance obligations during integration of newly acquired companies
•    HR Initiatives: Drive HR initiatives by coordinating processes, creating templates, communications, and providing direction for projects.

Manager Responsibilities

Supervises the HR Operations team members who perform data entry, operations and compliance processes, audit, reporting, and other HR Operations functions.

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor-level degree in a related field.
•    5-7+ years of experience in Human Resources, including 2-3 years of management experience, and 2 years of AAP experience preferred with a US Federal Contractor employer.
•    Professionalism and high ethical standards.
•    True subject matter expert on HR compliance and HR operations.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Advanced Excel skills utilizing pivot tables and formulas.
•    Basic understanding of human resources policies and regulations related to Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action.
•    Ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders.
•    Experience creating and presenting information in PowerPoint or similar software.
•    Experience analyzing data and reaching logical conclusions.
•    Experience using an ATS/HRIS, including employee, candidate/recruiting, and reporting functions.
