Position Summary

Teleflex has an opportunity within its in-house legal department for a highly motivated, experienced commercial attorney to join the organization as Counsel supporting our Global Operations business. This position will be located at Teleflex’s corporate headquarters in Wayne, PA.

Principal Responsibilities

The Counsel will be responsible for providing timely and effective legal support regarding contractual and risk management matters to the company’s Global Operations team: 

•    Provide practical legal advice to business clients on various commercial matters, including confidentiality agreements, development agreements, licenses, and manufacturing and supply arrangements.
•    Review and negotiate contracts and other legal instruments involving the company and its supply chain operations.
•    Interpret contracts, laws, rulings, and regulations, and clearly and effectively explain complex issues to business clients.
•    Assist the Associate General Counsel with legal research on various subjects, including complex commercial matters.
•    Create and update contract templates based on best practices and evolving legal standards
•    Collaborate effectively with Regulatory, Quality, and Compliance partners to ensure alignment on operational and policy issues.
•    Oversee and support the consistent implementation of strategic legal projects. 
•    Interface with outside counsel.

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Minimum 3 years of experience in a top law firm or in-house legal department focusing on commercial/contract law and hands-on legal counsel to organization leadership, preferably in medical devices or other life sciences industries.
•    Experience providing legal advice to large corporate organizations.
•    Experience in intellectual property matters and with Customs, FCPA, and FDA laws and regulations is strongly preferred.
•    Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Pennsylvania Bar License, or ability to obtain Pennsylvania Limited In-House Corporate Counsel License.
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including making recommendations and exercising judgment.
•    Exceptional verbal and written communication skills necessary to communicate with all levels of management.
•    Time management and organizational skills necessary to independently manage many matters, appropriately prioritize workload and plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals.
•    Ability to maintain confidentiality and project a professional image at all times.
•    Software skills, including using Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
