Position Summary

The Compliance Officer, Americas is responsible for the development, improvement, and day-to-day management of the Teleflex Anticorruption Compliance Program in the Americas, ensuring alignment with the 7 Effective Elements of a compliance program (plus the 8th Element from the UK Bribery Act). In collaboration with the Global Compliance Monitoring and Auditing Manager, the Compliance Officer, Americas is responsible for monitoring compliance with our Anticorruption policies and procedures through the execution of the Americas Auditing & Monitoring Plan. The Compliance Officer, Americas is also responsible for implementing, communicating, and institutionalizing our Anticorruption compliance standards, processes, and procedures throughout the Americas.  This position serves as the subject matter expert for the region on Anticorruption topics and issues and requires the ability to be a collaborative business partner, advising senior management and other employees across the region on understanding and addressing Anticorruption compliance risks and helping to develop and execute risk mitigation plans.  This position will also be responsible for Anticorruption compliance and ethics investigations when necessary.  The Compliance Officer, Americas will report to the Deputy Compliance Officer, Global and Interventional Urology. 

Principal Responsibilities

• Ensure alignment of the Teleflex Anticorruption Compliance Program in the Americas with the 7 Effective Elements of a compliance program (plus the 8th from the UK Bribery Act) and the Teleflex Global Corporate Compliance Program.
• Assesses Anticorruption compliance and ethics risks across the region on a periodic basis, advises senior management and other employees on understanding and addressing risks, and develops and executes mitigation measures as needed in collaboration with the business.
• Communicate compliance-related information regarding identified risks with the Americas region.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and improving Anticorruption policies and procedures for the Americas to help ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, accounting and contractual requirements.
• Develop, distribute and deliver effective training and communications in support of the Teleflex Anticorruption Compliance Program in the Americas, including language localizations as appropriate.
• Work with the Global Compliance Monitoring and Auditing Manager to monitor compliance with our Anticorruption policies and procedures through execution of our Americas Auditing & Monitoring Plan.
• Ensure effective reseller management for the Americas in connection with our Global Reseller Management SOP.
• Drive compliance with HCP payment transparency reporting requirement, including establishing and implementing tracking and reporting processes, systems and tools.
• Ensure consistency in handling of alleged violations of the Americas Anticorruption Compliance Program consistent with global policies, procedures and existing reporting tools.
• Assist with Anticorruption compliance and ethics-related investigations, inspections and audits as needed.  Follow up on Anticorruption compliance and ethics-related investigations to ensure recommendations have been appropriately and timely implemented.
• Promote awareness of the Teleflex Anticorruption Compliance Program in the Americas.
• Periodically measure the effectiveness of the Teleflex Anticorruption Compliance Program in the Americas and develop and implement appropriate recommendations for improvements.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders – Legal, HR, Internal Audit, Finance, Commercial and Supply Chain to identify, mitigate and resolve Anticorruption compliance matters.
• Lead cross-functional project teams as needed to implement Anticorruption compliance initiatives.
• Coordinate with and report results to the Deputy Compliance Officer, Global and Interventional Urology on a regular basis regarding Anticorruption compliance initiatives, training, auditing and monitoring results, and risk assessments in the Americas.
• Participates in the development of the annual Anticorruption compliance budget for the Americas and ensure expenditures remain within the budgeted expectations.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required to help ensure an effective Americas Anticorruption Compliance Program.

Education / Experience Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree is required, with a degree in accounting, finance, law or related field being a plus.
  • At least five years of corporate compliance, legal or similar experience preferably with a multinational organization similar to Teleflex.
  • Familiarity with laws and regulations associated with the above risks and related controls is required.
  • Certification or advance degree a plus.

• Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule (able to meet the requirements of the position as needed, including ability to work evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice).
• Willing and able to travel (up to 20%) including International.
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office software.  Emphasis on excel and Sharepoint.
