Position Summary

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the plant controller in multiple areas of accounting and finance including performing audits and journal entries, preparing cost analysis and reconciliation, and assisting in month-end closing.

Principal Responsibilities

Assist Controller with the management of various accounting functions including:

  • Month End Process
  • BOM and routers to ensure accurate standard cost and standard costing of new products.
  • Assists with forecasts, budget preparation, and reports on material, labor, and overhead vs budget.
  • Maintenance of fixed asset ledger
  • Participate in the inventory preparation and reconciliation
  • Daily/weekly/annual reports of various required accounting reports.
  • Assists in the preparation of external financial statements and submissions to corporate and upper management of OEM as necessary.
  • Assists with preparation of data for, and review with, external and internal auditors as requested.
  • Interaction with operations and financial personnel to gather and analyze data to resolve issues.
  • Other tasks and projects as required.

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of Associates degree in Accounting preferred. 
  • 2+ years of experience in finance or accounting.
  • Month-end closing experience in a manufacturing, standard costing environment is preferred.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

  • Ability to simultaneously perform multiple tasks and shifting priorities under tight deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Office products including Excel, Outlook and Word
  • ERP system experience required; SAP experience preferred
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent mathematic skills as they relate   to good accounting practices
  • Ability to convey information in a clear and concise manner to employees at all levels of the organization
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
