Position Summary
Exhibits and supports the development of a culture that identifies safe, quality production as number one goal. Cross function operator between Tinsel, Bobbin, Respool, and Annealing. Performs precision transfer of ultra fine wire to miniature bobbins, annealing process and inspection. The tinsel operation includes a hot tin dipping process.
Principal Responsibilities
• Read and verify shop packets for product specifications using SAP computer system.
• Set up machines to provide proper footage, weight and tension per spool.
• Inspect finished bobbin/spool of wire for visible signs of blisters, sags, or softness of wire wraps, poor spooling, poor surface condition, wavy or damaged spool flanges and perform required quality test. Inspect material to ensure conformance to process traveler specifications overall diameter, elongation, break punds, tensile and resistance.
• Identify products, label products accordingly and send product to next state of process.
• Operates and adjusts machine/equipment to SOP as trained and perform preventative maintenance.
• Measures diameter of bare wire with both micrometer and laser.
• Record heat and speeds for each annealing oven.
• Work in a safe, quality focused, efficient manner.
Education / Experience Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
• Knowledge of the principles and methods used in statistical processing, product catalog numbers and numbering system, conversion methods (wire from pounds to feet, kilograms, grams, etc.) Basic math (addition, subtraction, and division)
• Follow QA procedures and requirements.
• Must be able to distinguish color and good vision is required for inspection purposes
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards, including the use of required PPE.
• Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees.
• Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to work without supervision
• Computer skills (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Standing and occasional lifting from .50 lbs to 40lbs max with assistance as needed.
