Position Summary

Responsible for supporting the development, characterization, scale-up, and transfer of new manufacturing processes and products within the facility. Leads process improvement and development activities related to film insulated wire, micro tubing, conductors, and other medical product technologies while supporting operational performance and customer development programs.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Ability to support technical discussions with customers, suppliers, and cross-functional teams related to process capability, development activities, and manufacturing feasibility.
•    Assist with process development and design to meet customer product requirements.
•    Provide engineering support of products as they advance into production.
•    Lead major projects involving capital improvement, process improvement, and new products.
•    Provide technical and troubleshooting support for operators.
•    Establish process parameters and controls.
•    Complete development builds as assigned.
•    Execute all required validation activity as required.
•    Submit/lead capital projects.
•    Assist in meeting KPI targets in relation to profit, sales, and on-time-delivery. 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline preferred, or equivalent relevant technical and manufacturing experience

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Must be highly engaged on the manufacturing floor and comfortable working directly with operators, technicians, supervisors, and support functions to troubleshoot and implement process improvements and development activity in real time.
•    Experience designing, executing, and interpreting development trials and process characterization studies to support new product or process development.
•    Ability to balance technical depth with practical decision-making and concise communication in a fast-paced customer-driven environment.
•    Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills (root cause analysis).
•    Self-motivated and ability to function in a team-based work environment.
•    Demonstrated ability to independently lead projects from concept through implementation, including defining next steps, driving cross-functional alignment, resolving technical issues, and ensuring timely closure while exercising a high degree of ownership and initiative.
•    Ability to prioritize multiple competing assignments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining focus on high-impact business objectives.
•    Previous experience in leading and implementing process improvement initiatives is highly desirable.
•    Experience with CAD/SolidWorks, lean manufacturing, PFMEA, and Six Sigma Certification a plus.
•    Experience working with wire, conductors, medical tubing, process controls, automation, PLC programming, and thermal applications is desirable.
•    Experience with DOE, statistical analysis, and process characterization methodologies preferred.
•    Engineering lab experience preferred.
•    Ability to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques to improve processes.
•    Ability to research, evaluate, and spec equipment and materials.
