Position Summary

Exhibits and supports the development of a culture that identifies safe, quality production as number one goal.  Responsible for the preparation of cut-to-length material and set up of laser to strip the material to customer specifications.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Properly calculate the number of windows and require length for order. 
•    Secondary cross-training as needed within other departments.
•    Follows specification/process sheets. 
•    Safely thread up cutters, cutting wheels, respool machines, and laser stripers.
•    Operates lasers, welders and tipping heaters in a safe quality focused manner.
•    Records measurements, labels spools, generate and file test reports.
•    Verify raw materials, check lot numbers and direct materials to specified areas.

•    Accurately uses specified measuring equipment and other approved gauging instruments following prescribed procedures to meet specifications.
•    Documents and records data used in traceability reporting, statistical process control data collection, customer compliance, and quality assurance of products.
•    Identifies when process is out of specification and recognizes when to notify quality.
•    Follow QA procedures and requirements.
•    Follow safety procedures, good housekeeping practices, including the use of required PPE.
•    Follow environmental policies and procedures. 

Education / Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required. Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Basic Computer skills with Microsoft office, SAP experience preferred.
•    Basic math (addition, subtraction, and division) skills
•    Strong interpersonal, communication and documentation skills
•    Strong attention to detail
•    Ability to perform at a high-level with limited supervision and effectively partnership with team members when necessary.
•    Ability to document and record process data accurately.
•    Familiarity with QA procedures

•    Awareness of safety protocols and environmental policies.
•    Exposure to high production/output machinery and equipment. Constant noise in the production environment.
•    Will spend time 10% of time sitting and 90% persistent standing or walking/carrying. 
•    The employee is regularly required to stand and use hands and fingers, handle or fell objects, tools, or controls. The employee is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; and talk or hear.

•    The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 500 pounds with the aid of material handling devices. Specific vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
