Position Summary
Proactively leads the operations team, ensuring the complete and accurate execution of production schedules. Responsible for ensuring compliance with Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and for monitoring performance within the assigned area, in alignment with product quality procedures and applicable regulations. Drives key process and performance improvements, ensuring the successful implementation of programs that promote a fair, professional, and high-performance work environment aligned with company values.
Principal Responsibilities
- Demonstrates initiative and critical thinking to analyze challenges and cost issues, develop solutions, and institutionalize compliance with procedures to deliver products and results aligned with established objectives.
- Leads the team to deliver improved results through effective problem-solving and implementation of cost-reduction strategies.
- ensures adherence to Teleflex Core Values and applicable regulations, fostering a fair, open, and productive work environment.
- Provides instruction, guidance, and direction to resolve production and quality issues, evaluate process improvements, and implement cost-reduction initiatives.
- Anticipates and addresses production problems such as material shortages, equipment failures, and downtime by developing and applying preventive procedures to minimize disruptions and ensure continuous operations.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with suppliers, purchasing, planning, engineering, and other departments to troubleshoot and resolve challenges associated with new product launches.
- Supports the design, start-up, and automation of new products, equipment, and cleanroom facilities for packaging, devices, and sterilization departments as needed.
- Identifies and resolves issues related to equipment, materials, and processes by working closely with engineering, purchasing, and configuration teams.
- Contributes to planning efforts related to manufacturing expansion, new product integration, facility layout, automation, and other technical requirements.
Education / Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field such as Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics, or another relevant discipline (master’s degree preferred).
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, with strong communication and presentation skills (both written and verbal).
- 10+ years of experience in relevant manufacturing and engineering roles, including assembly, manufacturing processes, and automation (preferably with experience in the medical device industry).
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in the medical device industry, with demonstrated skills in project planning, execution, and strategic implementation aligned with company objectives.
- Strong organizational, leadership, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional product development teams.
- Knowledge of statistical techniques such as trend analysis, Pareto analysis, and root cause analysis is preferred.
- Work site is located in Tecate, Baja California (Local position).
