Position Summary
This is a key position in the execution of Global Supply Chain Projects initiated to drive Teleflex's profitability and operational excellence into the future. This role is an integral part of the Strategic Manufacturing Team with the responsibility to execute assigned projects. in line with our values without compromising product quality or customer needs.
Principal Responsibilities
- Work with senior supply chain management to develop short-, medium- and long-term strategies within the region that are aligned with the organization's primary objective of being a world-class, market-leading and highly profitable company for the benefit of its investors.
- Directly responsible for the Regional Procurement team related to the acquisition of strategic projects assigned within the region's plants to meet project expectations and transfer metrics.
- Provide leadership and feedback to the Regional Procurement team for the development of the Regional Commodity Strategy and support/participate in the development, implementation and control of Global Sourcing Area (GSA) strategies.
- Ensure compliance with the supplier identification and selection process for New Product Introduction (NPI), Supplier Initiative Change (SIC) and/or Cost Improvement Projects (CIP).
- Ensure that the regional procurement team conducts key negotiations with external and, where appropriate, internal suppliers, seeking to achieve the most favorable terms for Teleflex's objectives, but always seeking to establish long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with these suppliers.
- Lead or co-lead vertical supply chain integration projects that seek to achieve competitive advantage for the organization by providing a multi-disciplinary assessment that clearly establishes the benefit of the change relative to the current state of the business.
- Responsible for the regional procurement team or co-responsible for the global procurement team to ensure that all risk assessments of potential contracts and agreements with external suppliers are performed accurately and always in Teleflex's favor.
- Lead and manage the Regional Indirect Procurement team to meet established goals as a service organization to the manufacturing plants, always seeking to maximize resources at a lower cost to the company without compromising the level of service and quality of products and/or services.
- Conduct weekly reviews of progress against plans. Ensure that plans are properly executed within the department. Be responsible for the timely delivery of all supplier development and transfer deliverables as specified in the plans.
- Promote continuous improvement of the current processes and procedures of the organization's regional or global procurement team, always seeking to be an example to other regions within the Procurement Group and to standardize best practices in the marketplace.
- Create and foster an open environment that encourages creativity, innovation and out-of-the-box thinking.
- Provide support (escalation) to other departments on critical supply chain issues (quality issues, product specifications, payment issues, etc.).
- Provide exceptional customer service to our customers and buyers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management from time to time.

Education / Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Science or Supply Chain Management and Logistics (MBA preferred).
- CPM or similar accreditation is preferred.
- 3 years of experience working with customs brokers in a customs compliance capacity
- Minimum of 8 years' experience with significant project management experience, preferably in a multinational medical device environment.
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
- Bilingual (fluent in Spanish and English).
- Familiar with a diverse medical device manufacturer's FDA, GMP, and ISO quality system requirements.
- Ability to work independently with strong leadership skills.
- Working knowledge of customs regulations and international shipping.
- Experience in vendor management and procurement.
- Experience managing manufacturer contractors and experience working with suppliers in the North American region primarily, but not limited to, other areas of various continents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and critical thinking skills.
- Strong technical and managerial judgment and team orientation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and Access).
- Highly proficient in operations and supply chain functionality of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle GAM, etc.
- Strong organizational leadership, interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Practical approach to work.
- Strong relationship management skills, i.e., manufacturing and supply chain.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and put in extra hours when needed.
