Position Summary

The Financial Analyst for Strategic Projects provides financial and analytical support to the Project Management Team.  The Analyst's responsibilities will include preparing journal entries and month-end income statements, providing explanations for variances, tracking capital spending, and supporting forecasting and long-term planning.

The analyst will recommend and assist with the implementation of key process improvements.  In addition, the Financial Analyst will provide support on various financial analyses and other related projects.

Principal Responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly/quarterly financial closing; including preparation of journal entries and financial reports.
• Assist with detailed analysis of actual financial results versus plan, forecast, and prior year.
• Assist with preparation of annual plan, forecasts, and strategic plan, including preparation of variance analysis.
• Partner with the restructuring team to provide financial support.
• Make recommendations regarding process improvements and process reporting.
• Basic knowledge of cost accounting, variance analysis.
• Performs any other related tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Education / Experience Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related career is required (Preferable).
• Must be fluent in English (Preferable).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Accounting or Financial Analysis (Preferable).
• Previous project-related experience or work in a team environment (Preferable).
• Generally accepted accounting principles and standards. (PCGA) (Preferable).
• The candidate must have a strong knowledge of ERP systems (preferably SAP and HFM) or skills to learn; mastery of Microsoft Office suite (Preferable).

• The work site is located in Tecate, Baja California

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

• Knowledge of cost accounting (Preferable)
• Experience working in a global multi-plant manufacturing environment is a plus (Preferable).
• Financial concepts of product costing and financial analysis of manufacturing operations (Preferable).
• Experience working in a LEAN manufacturing environment (Preferable).
• Written and verbal communication skills (Preferable).
