Job Purpose:

The National Sales Manager is responsible for market development, direction and management of all sales activities for the Business Unit. As an integral member of the Sales team, this position hires, develops, and manages a high-achieving regional sales team that develops accounts to adopt the therapy. This position requires the ability to manage a remote-based team effectively, a strong track record of over delivering revenue versus sales plan, and the ability to perform at high-levels in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities:

•Hire and develop a successful regional sales team that meets or exceeds sales quotas, MBOs, and quarterly and annual targets.

•Ensure the district’s field team is properly credentialed at all hospitals and has access/good standing to hospitals

•Oversee district structure/organizational planning; identify qualified accounts and proper order of rollout with territory alignments

•Manage individual territory customer interface

•Qualify, train, assess, and ultimately develop accounts to adopt the therapy as an integral part and first-line therapy in their disease practice, with the goal of demonstrating high account adoption.

•Communicate current market conditions, recommend improvements to the commercial process, and contribute to the company s overall strategic execution.

•Partner with Clinical Medical Affairs team to deliver outstanding clinical and training support to physicians so that physicians can quickly become clinically independent.

•Build and maintain relationships with key customers and KOLs within designated region.

•Provide support in the resolution of product complaints and/or safety issues.

•Oversee all performance management responsibilities; feedback/coaching, development planning, employee training, objective setting, performance reviews, etc.

•Manage and achieve annual operating planning/in market sales quota, budgeting and forecasting

•Ensure the field reports all product and procedure complaints to the appropriate departments according to Teleflex policy

•Ensure Sales team is trained and abides by company mission and ethics policies, and business conduct standards

•Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to Sales Team through field visits, observation, and measurement of results. Performance responsibility includes safe growth with outcome accountability

•Establish plan quotas for each territory in region; ensure that strategies are in place to meet and exceed plan

•Ensure all sales and marketing programs are communicated and implemented and coordinated

•Expertise with subject matters involving healthcare economics, upstream and downstream product portfolio, clinical data and the competitive marketplace

•Monitor and control expenses to include proper allocation of customer inventory

•Develop, maintain and provide solutions for customer business needs

•Effectively build a positive working relationship between Teleflex and key accounts

•Attend/develop curriculum for monthly/quarterly district sales meetings and attend key society conventions as requested

•Develop, and retain sales representatives in support of achieving business objectives

•Perform other duties as assigned.


Must Have - Basic Qualifications

•BA in Business (or related discipline) or equivalent work experience

•At least 10 years of previous sales management experience strongly preferred, including a proven ability to manage a remote-based team effectively


Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•Thorough knowledge of the field of Urology, products, and strong relationships with local urologists is preferred.

•Operating room or therapeutic delivery experience.

•Successful track record of launching new and disruptive technologies and well-versed and proficient in reimbursement for assigned region.

•Excellent negotiating skills; ability to adapt to changing work priorities; and ability to maintain good working relationships while dealing appropriately with sensitive and confidential matters and with a wide variety of personal and customer contacts.

•Strong analytical skills with the ability to continuously refine business plans and sales techniques to achieve maximum performance.



Experience working in a matrix organization and ability to collaborate at various levels

Prior market development experience

Proven successful sales track record

Prior KOL management experience

Prior experience building and maintaining successful sales teams

Prior experience with balancing company profitability and customer goals

Ability to build strong relationships with key therapy users and internal employees across various functions and at all levels

Performance Management Leadership / Strong leadership skills
