Job Purpose:

Based in Taiwan, this role will support the HR department in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations in the Southeast Asia (SEA) region. The HR Specialist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities to plan and administer important functions, such as recruitment and onboarding, training and development, and compensation and benefits.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for executing HR operational processes from pre-onboarding to offboarding
  • Assist in developing and executing HR procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations
  • Participate in the development of HR objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements
  • Assist in administering benefits, compensation, and performance management programs
  • Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve the efficiency of the HR department and organization as a whole, and to improve the employee experience
  • Formulate, monitor and enforce policies, programs or procedures to ensure compliance with global policies, or applicable to local legislation requirements, policies, and directives
  • Involved Global and regional initiatives/ projects

 

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Facilitate smooth new hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including entering data into systems (i.e. Teleflex CONNECT, e-Leave), and auditing for accuracy and compliance
  • Provide an effective and dedicated HR advisory service to employees in relation to absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievance matters, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters
  • Primary for monthly payroll processing and benefits administration, including; partnering with appointed outsourced payroll vendor to provide updates on employee movement, bonus/incentive pay, importing expense reimbursements, inputting exceptions, hourly employee validations, and benefit changes
  • Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contributes to the development of policies

 

Essential Skills/ Experience

  • Degree in a Business, Human Resources related discipline, or equivalent educational qualification
  • At least 5-8 years of working experience, preferably across the SEA region
  • Experienced working in commercial business setup in a multinational/ matrix environment, working with senior leadership, as well as country/ functional managers
  • Proven experience working in an HR generalist role (full HR spectrum)
  • Working knowledge of HR-related software/systems
  • Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
  • Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies
  • Strong detail-oriented and resourceful mindset
