Job Purpose

The Clinical Specialist develops, manages, and delivers UroLift System professional education to surgeons, OR staff, and sales representatives to achieve exceptional clinical outcomes for patients. As an integral member of the Clinical and Medical Affairs team, this position manages, coordinates, and facilitates case coverage, peer- to-peer training, new hire training, new product development training, and other training activities. The Clinical Specialist will establish a team of Clinical Educators within Southeast Asia to support the growing need for education. The Clinical Specialist will provide approved educational material and content that is in compliance with the Off Label and Promotion Activities Policies. As an Education Specialist, the training and educational needs of clinicians and institutions will be assessed, and a plan will be developed and implemented by the Specialists or Clinical Educators. Overall performance will be driven through the effective development and support of professional relationships, processes and customer interaction by the Clinical Specialist and his/her educator(s) to assure appropriate and safe utilization and adoption of the designated Teleflex products that focuses on superior education resulting in optimal patient care. This position requires high calibre training experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to perform at high-levels independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to) the following:

Case Coverage

  • Develop, manage, and cover cases.
  • Manage case coverage schedules for SEA Interventional Urology Team.
  • Develop and manage supplemental physician case training, including New Physician, Advanced Anatomy, Advanced Techniques, and Median Lobe.
  • Partner with Commercial Team to manage and cover regular cases.

Peer-to-Peer

  • Manage a positive learning experience that builds champions through screening, vetting, and conducting peer to peer engagements and programs for urologist and faculty.
  • Manage peer-to-peer events in compliance with Teleflex APAC IPPs.
  • Provide advanced training and technical education for physicians to advance independence.
  • Train physicians on providing median lobe cases.
  • Manage and process invoices for all faculty events.
  • Manage vetting, training, and onboarding of faculty surgeons  

New Hire Training

  • Develop and manage training programs, including online programs, simulators, and live presentations for the Sales team and faculty.
  • Attend new hire training.
  • Develop material for training courses, including Clinical Specialist Training and Clinical Excellence Training.
  • Manage and conduct distributor representative training for new product introduction or process changes, monitor case coverage investments, and assign cost value relationships to corresponding events.
  • Partner with Clinical Specialists to manage and facilitate hands-on clinical training at New Hire Orientation.
  • Manage and follow-up with new hires to ensure attainment of qualifications and achievement of training requirements and ensure job performance is in accordance with training SOPs.

 

New Product Development

  • Partner with R&D and Marketing on managing and developing new product launches, market acceptance, case data follow-up reports, videos, video consents, and any other Market Acceptance Testing (MAT) data.
  • Participate in cadaver labs looking at design changes and evaluating future product enhancements.
  • Partner with the Sales team to deliver a touch point for customers that enhance business relationships.

Others

  • Build a clinical team in SEA consisting of contracted Clinical Educators.
  • Partner with sales team to develop clinical proficiency.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to develop webinar content, and conduct webinars with faculty and team members.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to provide customers a company touch point.
  • Manage and facilitate clinical breakout sessions as needed at meetings.
  • Present Professional Education and Clinical Urolift information.
  • Manage training logistics, budgeting, and training costs for Professional Education events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Keep current with medical literature, clinical initiatives/guideline and industry trends and communicate with the appropriate sales team and distributors.

  • Other assigned duties and responsibilities as required by CMA objectives to meet APAC IU strategy.

 

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or science-based field.
  • Registered Healthcare Professional with at least 5 years of professional training or OR-based sales experience.
  • Demonstrated clinical mastery related to medical devices and urology experience preferred.
  • Professional work ethic, strong organizational skills, and the ability to perform at high levels independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skill and experience of training HCPs in the clinical setting.
  • Advanced MS Office skills to develop effective reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
  • Valid driving license
  • Ability to travel, up to 70% within the specified region.
