Position Summary

The Clinical Specialist for Clinical and Medical Affairs (CMA) is responsible for assisting in customer product training and education to ensure the safe and appropriate use of Teleflex products in line with CMA strategic priorities to achieve exceptional clinical outcomes for patients. 

The clinical specialist will assist in the identification and delivery of appropriate internal and external customer training and education programs to support the Teleflex product portfolio. As an integral member of the Clinical and Medical Affairs team, this position manages, coordinates, and facilitates case coverage, peer- to-peer training, new hire training, new product development training, and other training activities. The clinical specialist will provide approved educational material and content that is in compliance with the off-label and promotion activities policies. Overall performance will be driven through the effective development and support of professional relationships, processes, and customer interaction by the clinical specialist and his or her educator(s) to assure appropriate and safe utilization and adoption of the designated Teleflex products that focus on superior education, resulting in optimal patient care. This position requires high-caliber training experience, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to perform at high levels independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Principal Responsibilities

As an integral part of the CMA team, performance  will be measured on delivery of assigned procedural education, its customer evaluations and feedback from the Clinical Manager, CMA APAC leadership and SEA CMA teams.
This important position will educate and support a wide range of hospital, healthcare professionals on the safe and effective use of Teleflex products.  Through effective customer training programmes and support advance clinical practice with the use of Teleflex products. Provide a support function to the Teleflex sales and marketing team by ensuring that both the sales team and post holder keeps up to date on the latest clinical evidence, practice and developments relating to Teleflex products.

•    Clinical procedural training of customers in the use of the Teleflex range of  products.
•    Clinical training of customers in terms of care and maintenance for Teleflex range of products demonstrating the safe and effective use.
•    Develop and deliver educational activities ensuring compliance with Teleflex regulatory requirements. 
•    Assist with the development and relationship maintenance of Key Opinion Leaders.
•    Facilitate training requests for approved education courses (on & off site).
•    Partner with sales team to develop clinical proficiency.
•    Partner with cross-functional teams to provide customers a company touch point, remaining compliant to Teleflex HCP policy and legal education requirements.
•    Manage and facilitate clinical breakout sessions as needed at meetings.
•    Manage training logistics, budgeting, and training costs for Professional Education events.
•    Perform other duties as assigned.
•    Keep current with medical literature, clinical initiatives/guideline and industry trends and communicate with the appropriate sales team and distributors.

•    Other assigned duties and responsibilities as required by CMA objectives to meet APAC strategy.

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or science-based field.
•    Registered Healthcare Professional with at least 5 years of professional training or OR-based sales experience.
•    Strong interpersonal skill and experience of training HCPs in the clinical setting.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

Work Experience Required:
•    Demonstrated clinical mastery related to medical devices and urology experience preferred.
•    Professional  work  ethic,  strong  organizational  skills,  and  the  ability  to  perform  at  high  levels independently.
•    Proven experience of education and teaching using simulation and workshop approaches.
•    Experience of developing and delivering teaching presentations to a group of health care professionals.
•    Advanced MS Office skills to develop effective reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.


Required Knowledge and Skills:
•    Intermediate level in English conversation and writing.
•    Exhibits strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as presentation skills.
•    Exhibits strong time-management and organizational skills. 
•    Established track record of building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers.
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office skills to develop effective reports, spreadsheets, and presentations.
•    Responsible for performing all duties in compliance with Teleflex IPPs and all international regulatory requirements.
