Position Summary

The Business Unit Manager is responsible for planning and executing business strategies for the specific business unit aligned to the overall strategy of the organization.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall strategic direction of the [business unit] business unit, aligning it with the overall strategy of the organization.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand the customer base and increase revenue.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and challenges.
  • Oversee key customer relationships, channel partner program and international supplier relationships and attend high-level negotiation meetings with all.
  • Participate in the negotiation of major deals and manage functional relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee regulatory and compliance requirements for the business in line with Government Regulations i.e. GMP
  • Drive proactive customer communication by conducting and leading internal/external business reviews with customer base
  • Ensure all sales and marketing programs are communicated and implemented and coordinated. This position is responsible for strategic planning end execution of sales and marketing strategy within the designated country.
  • Develop, and retain sales representatives in support of achieving business objectives
  • Oversee all performance management responsibilities; feedback/coaching, development planning, employee training, objective setting, performance reviews, etc.
  • Ensure staff is trained and abides by company mission and ethics policies, and business conduct standards
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to Sales team through field visits, observation, and measurement of results. Performance responsibility includes safe growth with outcome accountability
  • This position oversees and manage the operational aspects of Surgical business in Taiwan

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred. Experience will be considered if deemed adequate to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Sales experience with a leading medical device/consumable company or developing distribution agreements to grow the business
  • Strong communication skills in English

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

  • Good with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point etc
  • Strong motivational, persuasive and leadership skills, proven record of successful people management.
  • People Management – Has experience managing sales team and working with distributors and has People orientated personality and can communicate effectively with a broad spectrum of people having varying backgrounds, education and experience.
  • Experience in Taiwan healthcare environment is desired
  • Proven experience of managing a business unit and a strong understanding of the medical device business. In particularly to Surgical business unit.
