Position Summary

The Program Manager (PgM) position is responsible for the management of enterprise-level initiatives for the Global Strategic R&D team (GSRD) through a methodical approach of planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling projects from start to finish.  
The PgM demonstrates program ownership and guides teams through project execution while translating strategic objectives to an execution level.  The PgM ensures consistent practices throughout all phases of the project lifecycle and across functional and business unit teams.  The PgM uses professional project management concepts and frameworks in accordance with company objectives to solve complex problems in a creative and effective way and exercises a balance of independent judgment and group organization in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Responsible for planning and managing enterprise-level project initiatives for the GSRD team.  
•    Effectively lead and drive project teams in a collaborative environment, completing project deliverables per target timelines and requirements. 
•    Maintain and monitor project budgets, directing the efficient use of resources to effectively complete projects. 
•    Lead project-related activities of project team members 
•    Prepare project summary reports, develop project plans, identify risks and communicate mitigation activities. 
•    Prepare and deliver project status presentations to Management regularly. 
•    Negotiate and resolve any conflicts and drive decisions among team / functional members to accomplish project and business goals.  
•    Define project resource requirements and negotiate with functional managers to obtain resources necessary to support assigned programs. 
•    Facilitate management and development of internal systems, processes, and governance to ensure best practices for strategic R&D projects and programs.  
•    Facilitate development of an enterprise-wide, strategic portfolio management system, process, and governance model.  
•    Mentor project management team members assisting in their execution and development in project management skills and develop strong influencing behaviors to drive business outcomes. 
•    Adhere to all regulatory agency standards, company quality standards, and corporate policies. 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    BS in technical discipline (i.e. engineering, bio-science), advanced degree preferred
•    Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated experience in project management working in a technical discipline, medical device preferred. 
•    PMP preferred

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Demonstrated experience leading projects of complex systems 
•    Ability to communicate and partner with various stakeholders on complex tasks across all levels of the organization
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Project, Powerpoint, Teams
•    Basic Financial and/or Accounting knowledge  
•    Agile Project Management experience preferred
•    Demonstrated customer relations, presentation, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. 
•    Excellent leadership and communication skills
•    Self-starter with strong proactive work ethic, well-organized and detail-oriented
•    Proven ability to influence across functions, drive collaboration, and lead change
