Position Summary

Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) in change control and artwork creation for the Teleflex labeling centre of excellence.  Utilize this knowledge to assist implementation of global labeling systems for a state-of-the-art approach to medical device labeling across all of the Teleflex organization. Provide training and best practices with new employees and teams brought into Teleflex Global Labeling. Design, and create multilingual instructional manuals, product labels, packaging inserts, and carton labels using various graphic design and labeling software programs and support others labeling specialists and managers throughout the global organization.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Serve as SME for the utilization of Global Labeling Solution in the creation of product labeling which includes performing these activities (outlined below), training others for these activities and engaging with other SMEs in Teleflex to refine these processes collaboratively.  
•    Assist in the design and development of technical roadmaps for integration of existing labeling design centres globally.  
o    Provide guidance for assimilation of legacy label processes that interface with multiple change control systems within Teleflex i.e. Agile, Veraciti (Kallik), Quantum, SAP.
o    Identify best practices for use of label design software.
•    Perform Validation and User Acceptance Testing for updates and label system changes.
•    Identify root cause of system or artwork errors.  Provide solutions and impact for team review.  
•    Support design, development, and implementation of a system for e-labeling aligning with the current regulatory standards to allow and build a foundation for expansion of e-labeling 
•    Identify Gaps and provide improvements for global labeling standards and processes that support the centre of excellence for labeling for Teleflex 
•    Review requested changes to Work instructions with Global Labeling Systems Manager to identify impact to Global process.
•    Creation/archiving of artwork attributes, phrases and artwork.
•    Mapping of attributes in label system with PLM system. 
•    Creates new and revised product labels (e.g. carton, IFUs, inserts, bed sheets, and pressure sensitive labels) using labeling software
•    Assures labeling graphics meet corporate labeling standards/policies and internal labeling standards.
•    Provide input into creating a vision for future labeling technologies and strategies that Teleflex could benefit from.
•    Provide other departmental support as requested by immediate supervisor.
•    Adhere to and ensure the compliance of Teleflex’s Code of Conduct, all Company policies, rules, procedures and housekeeping standards.
 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    7+ years of working in a medical device labeling design and operations  
•    Strong understanding of state-of-the-art labeling systems used in medical device industry
•    Experience in integrating multiple labeling systems and ERP structures. 
•    BS Degree; preferred in a medical related science or engineering or design-related
•    Strong medical device technical writing experience 
•    Strong understanding of how ERP and PLM and Labeling software systems interact. 
•    Previous experience working with all aspects of medical device labeling
 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Strong knowledge and working understanding of GS1 and UDI requirements
•    Good attention to detail and accuracy 
•    Excellent communication skills (specifically when explaining integration and operations of new labeling systems)
•    Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and under deadlines and pressure
•    Skills that enable coordination of data, including MS-Office
