Position Summary

You are part of the front-end innovation team, whose singular focus is to drive purpose driven innovation by fostering strong collaboration with Business Units. The Sr. Innovation Data Strategist is a critical role responsible for driving innovation and strategic decision-making within the organization by leveraging data insights. You play a key role in identifying best in class opportunities for innovation, transforming those opportunities into data driven business models, and guiding the organization's overall innovation strategy. The role combines data analysis, market research, and strategic thinking to provide data-driven recommendations and initiatives that foster creativity, efficiency, and growth.

You are a self-motivated and proactive individual with demonstrated leadership skills in collaborating with high performing individuals and teams across multiple specialties. You have the ability to deliver, with limited general supervision, timely and actionable outcomes for the business.

Your success in this role requires strong leadership in providing vision, guidance that helps to shape the future of Teleflex through data strategies and by building the innovation management systems that the entire organization can leverage.
 

Principal Responsibilities

•    Collect, analyze, and interpret large datasets (both qualitative and quantitative) from various sources to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for innovation.
•    Utilize statistical and data analysis techniques to extract valuable insights that inform strategic decision-making.
•    Visualize complex concepts founded in data, support interactive designs, and leverage immersive storytelling to bring data to life. 
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement data-driven innovation strategies aligned with the organization's objectives and goals.
•    Use dashboarding tools, business intelligence platforms, and visual design tools to present data effectively. 
•    Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the market, competitors, and emerging trends to identify potential areas for innovation.
•    Facilitate brainstorming sessions and workshops to generate innovative ideas and concepts.
•    Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify market gaps, customer needs, and areas for differentiation.
•    Use data to inform strategy, define requirements, outline processes, and generate business cases to support a range of projects.
•    Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to ensure the availability and integrity of data necessary for innovation initiatives.
•    Explore and recommend new data tools and technologies that can enhance data analytics capabilities.
•    Effectively communicate data-driven insights and innovation proposals to stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including executives and cross-functional teams.
•    Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to garner support and resources for innovation initiatives.
•    Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of innovation efforts through data analysis, seeking areas for improvement and refinement.
•    Adhere to and ensure the adherence of Teleflex Code of Ethics, all Company policies, rules, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
•    Performs other duties as assigned by Management.


MANAGEMENT / SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
•    No immediate direct reports. May manage 1 or more employees in the future.
 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Innovation Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
•    Proven experience in data analysis, market research, and strategy development.
•    Strong knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques, such as SQL, Python, R, and data visualization tools.
•    Familiarity with innovation methodologies and practices (e.g., jobs to be done, Stanford Biodesign, design thinking, lean startup).
•    Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data insights in a clear and concise manner.
•    Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
•    Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
•    A passion for innovation and an entrepreneurial mindset.
•    Experience in project management and innovation implementation is a plus.
•    Experience presenting to senior leadership, preferred.
•    Experience in the medical device industry, preferred.
 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Experience with management consulting, including the practical application of strategic frameworks, methodologies, and approaches to address organizational challenges.
•    Experience with supporting client-facing projects.
•    Ability to work on small or cross-functional project teams, and multiple projects at one time.

  • Able to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%

 

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $100,000 and $150,000 however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  The total compensation package for this position will also include benefits such as medical, prescription drug, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, participation in 401(k) savings plan, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO, short- and long-term disability and parental leave, dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
