Position Summary
The HR Generalist position is responsible for core human resources activities including policy administration, recruitment, time and attendance, leave management, employee relations, training, and worker’s compensation. This role will also assist and support management and the leadership team with handling and resolving HR issues.
Principal Responsibilities
• Provide policy and procedure guidance to employees and managers
• Respond to human resources related inquiries
• Manage and execute talent acquisition, orientation and retention programs. Develop staffing strategies and implementation plans to identify talent within and outside the business
• Recruit for non-exempt manufacturing and technical positions including maintenance of talent management data base
• Coordinate with the Talent Acquisition team for exempt recruitment
• Oversee the leave management process as a liaison with employees, managers and 3rd party vendor
• Oversee workers compensation claims and administration
• Work with the Senior HR Manager to investigate employee complaints and concerns as appropriate
• Support managers with employee development and succession planning
• Support managers with performance management
• Stay up-to-date with HR trends, employment law updates, and compliance requirements
• Leads and/or participate in HR team or business initiatives and special projects as appropriate
• Facilitate employee development and training as needed
Education / Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree, preferrably in a business and/or human resources concentration
• HR and/or training certification preferred
• 3+ years’ human resources experience
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or non-exempt working environment preferred
• Previous recruitment experience preferred
• Experience with time management or HRIS systems preferred
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
• Deep understanding of labor laws and human resources compliance
• Knowledge of HR functions and best practices
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all circumstances
• Efficient administration and people management skills
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and HRIS tools
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Independent working style with follow through
• Ability to successfully prioritize and shift focus to meet the needs of the business
• Strong business process and customer focus
• Must be well-organized with high attention to detail
The pay range for this position at the commencement of employment is expected to be between $75,100.00 - $112,700.00; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will also include benefits such as medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, participation in a 401(k) savings plan, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO, short- and long-term disability and parental leave, dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
