Position Summary

•    Primary contact to a Global Procurement, Site Buyers, and Site Quality to perform supplier quality functions and activities for the purchase of Commodities, Purchased Finished Goods (PFG’s), and Critical Services 
•    Lead supplier quality improvement projects as part of integration activities. 
•    Assist with the development of suppliers to provide reliable, trusting, and productive relationships 
•    Primary contact to an assigned BU and/or manufacturing site for the resolution of supplier issues and projects 
•    To serve as a subject matter expert in the area of Supplier Controls & support Purchasing Controls as required 
•    Write, coordinate, track, and review supplier quality agreements 
•    Perform supplier audits 
•    Mentor coworkers 
•    Develop strong partnering relationships with Global Procurement, Supply Chain, QA/RA, Design, and Manufacturing groups
 

Principal Responsibilities

•    Coordinate with Global Procurement, Site Buyers, and Site Quality to provide the appropriate supplier quality support for the purchase of Commodities, finished goods and Critical Services  
•    Perform supplier compliance and qualification functions and activities for prospective new commodity and critical service suppliers 
•    Work with Global Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Site Buyers, and Site Quality on the development of key and critical suppliers to improve supplier’s performance, quality, cost, responsiveness, and technology 
•    Perform supplier development activities with suppliers of defective materials including developing and executing supplier quality plans, conducting “for-cause” audits, SCAR follow-up, coordinating business reviews, and implementing six-sigma and continuous improvement methods and techniques 
•    Implement quality improvements related to suppliers of materials, products, or critical services in development or manufacturing 
•    Resolve ineffective supplier corrective action plans with suppliers 
•    Coordinate component and product quality testing
•    Coordinate supplier-initiated change requests 
•    Analyze and identify trends from quality data and develop proactive measures with supplier in support of continuous improvement 
•    Lead supplier related activities in support of business objectives 
•    Provide other departmental support requested by immediate supervisor 
•    Adhere to and ensure compliance to the Teleflex code of conduct, all company policies, rules, procedures and housekeeping standards
 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Engineering, scientific/technical degree or 3rd party engineering certification preferred (ASQ CQE)
•    3-5 years of experience working within an FDA regulated industry, Medical Device preferred 
•    Advanced problem solving and root cause analysis 
•    Advanced knowledge of 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and ISO 9001 (with emphasis on purchasing controls) 
•    Knowledge of statistical techniques 
•    Minimum 2 years of auditing experience (3rd party certification preferred)
 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Experience with manufacturing processes & supplier controls  
•    Experience with Visio, Access, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and statistical applications 
•    Excellent verbal communication (English language) •    Excellent technical writing skills (English language) 
•    Excellent presentation skills 
•    Team facilitation skills 
•    Experience with Minitab preferred 
 

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between ($110,000 - $120,000 )  however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  The total compensation package for this position will also include benefits such as medical, prescription drug, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, participation in 401(k) savings plan, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO, short- and long-term disability and parental leave, dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
