Interventional Urology – NeoTract is dedicated to developing innovative, minimally invasive and clinically effective devices that address unmet needs in the field of urology. Indicated for the treatment of symptoms of an enlarged prostate up to 100cc in men 45 years or older. As with any medical procedure, individual results may vary. Most common side effects are temporary and include pain or burning with urination, blood in the urine, pelvic pain, urgent need to urinate and/or the inability to control the urge.1 Rare side effects, including bleeding and infection, may lead to a serious outcome and may require intervention. Position Summary

The Cost Accounting Manager provides analysis and insight into all aspects of NeoTract’s actual and planned gross margin results.  In addition to gross margin $ and gross margin %, other key performance metrics to analyze include product selling prices (ASP – average selling price), product mix, sourcing mix, standard margin %, and other cost of goods sold (OCOGS) vs forecast. This position requires strong analytical skills, experience in a manufacturing cost accounting role, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Provide senior management with a clear & concise analysis of monthly actual COGS & inventory results, prepare periodic COGS forecasts/budgets, & develop robust monthly budget vs. actual variance reporting.
•    COGS analysis includes all products manufactured in Pleasanton as well as any NeoTract products produced at other TFX sites.  Periodic COGS analysis would also include all third-party purchased products that are sold as part of the IUBU product portfolio.
•    Responsible for reporting, forecasting, & analyzing all other potential “non-COGS” drivers of gross margin performance such as ASP, product mix (UL400 vs UL2), & site/sourcing mix
•    Partner with the Operations & Quality teams to understand raw materials, direct labor, & overhead cost drivers.
•    Proactively review inventory transactions throughout the month to identify & troubleshoot unusual transactions & variances before the month end close.
•    Publish periodic (e.g. weekly) dashboards to inform operations & finance management of key short-term trends in manufacturing variances, period expenses, monthly build plan attainment, etc.
•    Review the balance sheet & P&L accounts for accurate COGS coding.
•    Ensure all system driven postings & manual journal entries yield financial results that are in accordance with US GAAP & SOX control requirements.
•    Complete all COGS related balance sheet account reconciliations & periodic flux commentary per the monthly close schedule.
•    Collaborate with the Operations & Quality teams to develop periodic budgets/forecasts that comprehend future COGS related charges
•    Meet with key Operations personnel on a quarterly basis to review / update our inventory reserves.
•    Prepare periodic schedules, analyses, etc. that internal or external auditors may request.
•    Drive the monthly reporting & periodic internal audit tasks related to the company’s cycle count program.
•    Support other ad-hoc & year-end physical inventory counts that may be required by company management or external auditors.
•    Partner with the Senior Manager, Accounting on periodic balance sheet forecasting requests.
•    Partner with the Senior Manager, Accounting on quarterly / annual supplemental financial disclosure reporting & analysis (e.g. significant purchase commitments, spend by vendor, embedded derivative questionnaires, etc.)
•    Perform a comprehensive annual standard cost roll that meets the TFX corporate timeline.  Perform ad-hoc standard cost updates as needed.
•    Support as necessary all business unit fixed asset purchase transactions that must successfully go through the PEA (project expenditure authorization) process. 
•    Identify workflow inefficiencies & propose solutions to streamline processes that support the Company's rapid growth.
•    Prepare timely & concise COGS analytics for inclusion in periodic reporting packages, roll forwards, & gross margin bridges.
•    Partner with cross-functional teams to develop robust cost models for new product offerings, on ongoing cost saving strategies.
•    Maintain a multi-year quarterly rolling COGS forecast model & ensure it aligns with the overall business unit forecast model maintained by the FP&A team

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor's degree in Business/Accounting or related field; or equivalent experience.
•    At least 7 years of relevant accounting experience, including direct experience in a cost accounting role for a manufacturing company.

•    Excellent analytical skills with the ability to act as a business partner & communicate with senior management.
•    Proven track record of success & increased levels of responsibility.
•    Self-motivated with the ability to perform at a high level in a dynamic environment.
•    Experience with process improvement.
•    Advanced Excel skills & proficiency in Word & PowerPoint; familiarity with SAP ERP is a plus.
