Position Summary
The focus of the Director Market Access will be to oversee the strategic plan and vision for business opportunities in various markets for new and existing products. The position requires the ability to successfully analyze the market in terms of coverage and reimbursement, existing and emerging payer policies, formulary listings, competitive landscape, trends, pricing, contracting strategies, potential barriers to provider and patient access. Informs and influences key opinion leaders, regarding improved outcomes and public policy matters. Key market functional areas may include patient access programs, market access and employer strategy, managed markets, government markets, and trade and strategic accounts.

Principal Responsibilities
• Manage and lead activities of the reimbursement/market access team and business growth by ensuring payer coverage and payment policies are established with third party payers, including commercial, federal and state governments for existing and future products and clinical indications
• Negotiate coverage policies and appropriate payment levels for all products by interfacing directly with medical directors/key decision makers of Medicare, BCBS, MCO’s, other commercial payers
• Assist in the development and refinement of reimbursement strategies to attain these goals
• Operate independently in the field activities spanning the the entire US
• Work directly with VP Reimbursement/Market Access to identify key payers and decision makers within the region and develop and implement a focused plan to establish positive coverage and payment decisions
• Facilitate the establishment of coverage policies and appropriate payment levels of payment with Medicare and other commercial payers for Teleflex therapies in the US (Potentially have some responsibilities OUS)
• Interacts with internal and external executive level management, requiring negotiation of extremely critical matters Influences policy making and strategy based on communication strategies and persuasion skills
• Collaborate with sales/reimbursement team to identify key payer issues and develop action plans to address
• Collaborate with the sales to develop a network of key opinion leaders and local patient advocates to support the adoption of Teleflex therapies within the payer community
• Participate in the development, implementation, maintenance and analysis of reimbursement support services including provision of educational and training programs to internal and external customers (to include payers, patients, physicians, case managers, employer HR teams and other healthcare professionals
• Coordinate with marketing and develop advocacy plan across Teleflex’s product portfolio
• Explore alternative partnership opportunities with payers
• Assist in the development of reimbursement tools
• Assist in the development of economic strategies and tools for coverage and reimbursement
Education / Experience Requirements
• 8+ years in the healthcare payer/reimbursement environment within the medical device industry
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Detailed knowledge of coding, billing and payment for physician offices, inpatient hospitals and outpatient hospitals
• Urology experience a plus
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision and cross-functionally with internal departments
• Knowledge of health technology assessment protocols, practices and processes is desirable
• Ability to understand and communicate scientific medical data reported in peer review literature.
• Must be mobile and willing to travel
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Recognized as an influential leader with demonstrated competencies in overseeing team(s) to develop new methods and solve complex problems
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills
• Knowledge of private payer and Medicare coverage process

• Perform all other duties as assigned.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $200,000 - 215,000 however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will also include benefits such as medical, prescription drug, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, participation in 401(k) savings plan, and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO, short- and long-term disability and parental leave, dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
