Position Summary
This individual will be responsible for handling nonconforming products and monitoring functions of the lab to ensure conformance and continual improvement by gathering and reporting metrics, reviewing processes and supporting in document control functions when updates are necessary, and performing training with Quality Lab technicians. This person has knowledge and experience in visual, functional, and dimensional testing of products in a lab environment, including use of measuring equipment.
Principal Responsibilities
• Manage, generate and report lab KPI metrics and reports to management
• Manage and handling nonconforming products, including notification to and communication with Business Unit and Supplier Quality representatives, completion of nonconformance report, and performing disposition of products
• Manage and provide training to QA Technicians
• Manage periodic reviews and revise Lab Work Instructions and forms as needed
• Manage and provide direct oversight of the day to day inpections of the lab
• Manage and assist in Inspection Plans set up and revisions
• Provide support and collaborate with management, various departments and Business units
• Complete inspections and testing of products as needed
• Subject Matter Expert of visual, functional, and/or dimensional testing
• Manage and oversee calibration program at the NADC
• Other duties as needed
Education / Experience Requirements
• Associates degree preferred or 3-5 years' experience in Quality Inspections and measuring devices/tooling, with the ability to read blueprints
• 3-5 Years related experience in Medical Device Industry
• ASQ CQT preferred
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
• Use various measurement equipment/devices (Caliper, Micrometer, Scale, Comparator, VMM, Instron)
• Ability to operate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Strong MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook experience
• Strong SAP knowledge and understanding of distribution processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines
• Ability to read blueprints and knowledgeable of GD&T
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers
• Ability to read, interpret, and write Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
• Experience with Quality Management Systems and FDA and ISO requirements
