Long Description

Position Summary

Growth, Culture, People and Careers: this is the Teleflex Advantage.This person is primarily responsible for providing quality inspections process support for the North American Distribution CenterInspection of finished and in-process products by performing visual, basic dimensional and documentation inspectionUsing inspection equipment, measuring techniques and use of computer system. Follow specified procedures or instructions within the framework of the FDA Quality Systems Requirements (QSR’s) and ISO 13485 standards

Principal Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection and test activities associated with the acceptance and release of components, sub-assemblies and finished devices governed by Standard Operating Procedures and/or Drawings
  • Incoming inspection of raw materials and purchased finished devices.
  • Use various pieces of measurement equipment (Caliper, Micrometer, Scale, Comparator)
  • Ability to read and interpret product characteristics and inspection plans 
  • In-process testing of devices (during manufacturing, post sterilization, etc.).
  • Forklift Certified on all equipment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

 

Education / Experience Requirements

  • High School education or GED equivalency
  • One-year experience in a position involving inspecting parts to blueprints using measuring instruments (comparator, micrometer and calipers)
  • Ability to read blue prints
  • Ability to read measuring instruments
  • Understanding of general manufacturing processes
  • Understanding of basic math, including decimals
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T is a plus.
  • Steel toe shoes required
  • Candidates must pass a micrometer/digital caliper test as well as basic print reading

 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with SAP applications
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment under pressure and maintain positive, enthusiastic attitude
  • Eagerness to learn and expand responsibilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong working relationships.
  • Relevant Experience working within Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, or other FDA-regulated Industry is an advantage
