Position Summary

Responsible for the assignment and prioritization of work within the marrying, kitting, returns, rebox, rework, and other value-add service areas. This includes oversight of all kitting, rework, and returns-related activities aligned with build and ship priorities. Accountable for all aspects of employee performance management, including coaching, development, and training opportunities for direct reports. Drives goal achievement, production and returns output, quality, and safety by fostering an agile mindset and a culture of accountability. Collaborates cross-functionally, sets goals, solves problems, and builds high-performing teams through data-driven, analytical decision-making.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Directs Operations activities and teammates for one or more functions within NADC.
•    Performance management of all direct reports, including timely performance reviews & ongoing feedback and attendance for the factory and stockroom.
•    Mentor, develop and address training opportunities for all direct reports.
•    Execute the production, kitting, rework, rebox, and returns schedule to meet customer needs based on customer backlog, and meet commit dates for completion.
•    Understand production planning and execution to ensure processes are running at maximum efficiency and planning is maximizing output with all factors considered.
•    Provide engineering support to create Builds of Materials, routings and continued process and procedure development and implementation.
•    Understand Quality requirements associated with med device kitting, marrying, returns, rework, rebox, and any other value add activities to include but not limited to such areas as validation and quality management system requirements. 
•    Ensure the accurate processing of all transactions based on Company policies and procedures as it relates to the kitting function and setup process.
•    Responsible to assign work to employees with the appropriate skill level
•    Oversee jobs through the complete production, rework, and returns process.
•    Clear ownership of RGA and disposition workflows.
•    Clear ownership of rework routing accuracy.
•    Clear ownership of service level agreements for return turnaround time.
•    Maintain high quality products and manage quality, rework, and returns issues.
•    Ensure a safe work environment and be the lead within manufacturing to implement, meet and ensure 6S initiatives.
•    Ownership of 6S audits
•    Daily capacity planning for kitting and returns.
•    Hour-by-hour tracking and tier 1 visual management.
•    Labor balancing across VAS and returns during demand spikes.
•    SAP and BY transaction accuracy tied to inventory integrity.
•    Error-proofing steps for kitting BOM accuracy and batch control.
•    Daily reconciliation expectations for WIP.
•    First article inspections for kitting builds.
•    Sampling plans for rework and returns inspection.
•    Documentation requirements for med device traceability.
•    Responsible for implementing corrective action for errors in the manufacturing, rework, or returns process.
•    Responsible for MRB process relating to manufacturing, rework, or returns issues that occur in the process.
•    Support and follow all standards related to Teleflex various Quality Management Systems. These systems may include, but are not limited to, quality, the environment, health, safety and security.
•    Root Cause Analysis: Resolve complex issues impacting the marrying, kitting, returns, rework, rebox, and any other value add, rework, or returns services process, and/or customers. Complete investigations to identify the root cause. Resolve cross functional issues with multiple departments, Design, and suppliers. Document each issue with result data and recommended action plan. Find temporary solutions to issues when essential to sustain safety, quality and delivery. Provide feedback on complex issues to the appropriate or responsible party.

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree preferred
•    3-5+ years of professional supply chain or warehouse operations experience exhibiting leadership capability, preferably within the healthcare/medical/medical device industry
•    Medical device industry experience is preferred. Prior returns processing or reverse logistics experience is a plus.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

 Principal Responsibilities Cont.:

•    Implement permanent Countermeasures: Work with marrying, kitting, returns, rework, and any other value add, rework, or returns services, Design, and suppliers to apply the change points. Recommend a permanent countermeasure which could include (but is not limited to) a design change or a modification process. Utilize PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Action) to confirm countermeasure effectiveness.
•    Support production, rework, and returns processes to ensure optimal efficiency to ensure optimal line efficiency (minimizing downtime).
•    Identify process improvement within the marrying, kitting, returns, rework, and any other value add, rework, or returns services process flow.
•    Participate in new marrying, kitting, returns, rework, and any other value add, rework, or returns services initiation projects.
•    Run Daily Start-up meeting structure and remain accountability routines.
•    Maintain all training matrices and cross-training depth.
•    Coaching and corrective actions.
•    Owns all VAS standard work.
•    Owns upkeep of all KPI’s for VAS division.
•    Cross functional interaction with other departments, Design, and suppliers.
•    Perform all other duties, as assigned  

 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements:

•    Must have knowledge of Human Relations, analytical, leadership skills, system oriented and develop a working knowledge of the mechanics of technologies and processes within his/her organization.  Analytical skills include monitoring and trending of internal and external data. Strong SAP background.
•    Must have demonstrated ability to identify trends in data and provide problem statements and provide input to solutions. 
•    Must effectively interrelate with all disciplines that share in responsibilities of his/her organization.  Typical working relationships would be with Inbound, Outbound, Manufacturing, Accounting, Quality, Purchasing, special projects as necessary and Human Resources.  Frequency level is on an “as needed” basis.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

•    Non-smoking building. Ability to work overtime and extended work hours as required
•    Varied amounts of walking, sitting, with a large emphasis on standing. 
•    Occasional amount of bending/stooping, reaching or pushing/pulling. 
•    Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
•    Requires above normal manual dexterity with tight tolerances.
•    Must be able to wear appropriate safety gear such as hearing protection, safety glasses, masks, etc.
•    Requires normal physical mobility, agility, and coordination including eye-hand.
•    Requires above average concentration with normal memory.
•    Normal ability to see with sense of touch.
