Position Summary

You are part of a high-energy team, whose singular focus is to drive innovation across business units enabling future global growth for Teleflex. The Sr. Innovation Project Manager will manage projects and processes to help us advance innovation strategies and initiatives. You will work across businesses, regions, and functions, as required, to make an impact based on company innovation priorities.

You are a self-motivated individual with demonstrated leadership skills in project, process and/or people management, and be able to execute with limited general supervision.  You will be responsible for establishing project objectives, priorities, and resource requirements to ensure the right innovation balance in terms of payback time, risk profile, etc.

In conjunction with manager, the Sr. Innovation Project Manager provides innovation portfolio management for existing key product franchises and for future growth drivers for Teleflex.

Your success in this role requires creating a cohesive strategy for project execution and driving execution to ensure project completion.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Manages individual, complex, cross-BU innovation projects on operational level.
•    Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress. 
•    Manage, monitor, and maintain the project scope, objectives, stakeholder onboarding, deliverables, task timeline, risks, cost and required staff/resources.
•    Utilize project management best practices, techniques, and standards to structure Front-end-innovation projects based on Bio design and Design Thinking approaches, to accelerate key innovation projects in alignment with the innovation project team and the Innovation champion
•    Track key project milestones and adjust project plans and/or resources to meet commitments or expectations.
•    Guides team members to properly use project tools, templates and deliverables.
•    Supports the creation and management of global innovation portfolio for Teleflex.
•    As required, coordinate a project portfolio view across multiple projects. Provide consistent high-level project leadership, maintain an understanding of project status, and report progress.
•    Develop and maintain annual operation plan and budget for assigned innovation portfolio initiatives.
•    Establish, maintain and manage the governance, reporting and monitoring framework for the Innovation Projects, i.e., weekly/monthly updates, risk registers, critical path timelines/milestones.
•    Determines success metrics for innovation projects in the pipeline and provide guidance to the innovation teams on the go/no-go decisions. 
•    Collaborates with innovation teams to produce metrics and relevant KPIs to track innovation investments versus expected revenue.
•    Collaborate with R&D, Clinical Medical Affairs, Project Management Office and other key stakeholders within each of the business units.
•    Manage and/or build relationships with innovation partners both internally and externally.
•    Identify and manage enterprise-level innovation management platform/ system. 
•    Coordinate innovation planning strategy efforts with business units and with enterprise leadership.
•    Implement cadence of communication with business unit leadership to ensure understanding of innovation product pipeline, its value and project progress.
•    Co-ordination of project activities to ensure business and compliance needs are satisfied.
•    Adhere to and ensure the adherence of Teleflex Code of Ethics, all Company policies, rules, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
•    Performs other duties as assigned by Management.


  • No immediate direct reports. May manage 1 or more employees in the future.

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Four (4) year university degree required
•    5+ years’ experience in project management leading cross-functional teams and managing project scope, schedule, budget and risk.
•    Advanced degrees and certifications, preferred
•    Prior experience with bio-design and design thinking processes, preferred
•    Experience in the medical device industry, preferred
•    PMP® certification, preferred
