Position Summary

The Teleflex Anesthesia and Emergency Medicine (AEM) business unit continues to expand, and we are investing for sustained high growth. The marketing team is integral to developing and driving the Teleflex AEM growth strategy through new product development and innovative channel marketing. 

This Morrisville, NC based senior product manager will support the development and execution of strategy and direction for the Blood Products business and define the pathway for successful market development for the EZ-PLAZ™ Freeze-Dried Plasma product line. The senior product manager will work closely with R&D on new product development as well as with sales to devise and drive innovative marketing programs to exceed financial targets in the military, emergency medicine, and hospital markets.  

This role bridges the business and clinical worlds to lead initiatives across matrixed teams comprised of clinicians, R&D, sales, marketing, clinical medical affairs, regulatory, quality, and finance. The ideal candidate must have a business owner mentality. The product manager must be able to manage the day-to-day aspects of building and executing a marketing plan and have the business instincts/research skills to pursue new growth opportunities in current and adjacent markets.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Provide day to day management of the Blood Product line and sales support for the military and civilian markets. 
•    Develop and execute: 
o    Marketing plans for product launch, product training, messaging, pricing and positioning. 
o    Market research initiatives to help develop deep customer insights to guide market development initiatives to drive long-term portfolio vitality. 
o    Tactical plan for the product/portfolio to address short-term revenue objectives, including opportunity mapping and prioritization for helicopter emergency medical services, ground emergency medical services, and hospitals.  
o    Innovative channel marketing programs, leveraging marketing automation, to drive demand and increase win rate. 
o    Sales training, education, promotional materials and programs. 
•    Provide strategic direction and tactical execution for market development efforts supporting Military, Emergency Medicine, and Hospital markets.
•    Partner with Clinical Medical Affairs to develop claim matrix for Blood Products and refine evidence generation strategy.
•    Develop, maintain and leverage key opinion leader (KOL) relationships for the voice of customer feedback and new idea generation process. 
•    Work with Demand Planning, Manufacturing, and Distribution to maintain high service levels. 
•    In collaboration with manager, create and maintain operating plan and budget. 
•    Analyze market trends, the customer and competitive landscape. 
•    Collaborate with key customers, R&D, legal, Clinical Medical Affairs and others to define marketing level product and service requirements, including clinical and business value for target customer segments. 
•    Collaborate with Marketing Communications to develop and deploy relevant marketing collateral. 
•    Establish KPI to ensure strategies, programs and activities are executed effectively. 
•    Ownership for new product development roadmap. Coordinate with Global Marketing team counterparts for product gating process, responsible for North America input into the new product development process. 
•    Adhere to and ensure the adherence of Teleflex Code of Ethics, all Company policies, rules, procedures, and housekeeping standards. 
•    Perform other duties as assigned by immediate manager. 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree required with areas of preference including marketing, biomedical engineering, business administration or other similar degree area.
•    5-10 years’ marketing experience typical, with proficiency in product portfolio management with general supervision.   Prior experience with medical device and/or pharmaceutical companies is preferred.
•    Prior marketing experience is required. Prior sales/marketing experience with medical device and/or pharmaceutical companies, is preferred, but not required. 
•    Of interest, but not required, would be candidates with health science backgrounds, inclusive of baccalaureates (paramedics, for example). In cases where health science backgrounds are considered, clearly demonstrated skills in sales and marketing areas such as strategic thinking, influence, analytical skills and project management must be evident. 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    3+ years' experience in commercial and product marketing roles in strategic and/or tactical marketing in the medical device industry. 
•    Demonstrated success in market development of a novel product in the pharmaceutical industry. 
•    Strong team player and builder, receptive to ideas from others; globally diverse. 
•    Proven project management skills, effective self-starter and meets deadlines routinely. 
•    Demonstrated ability to take action, manage risks intelligently, prioritize and implement effective solutions in a timely manner. 
•    Strong business acumen and analytical skills with relevant experience developing and accessing business models. 
•    Coach and trainer mentality; able to build, lead and motivate teams directly and indirectly.
•    Strong results focus and customer orientation.

•    Strong communicator with demonstrated experience to influence people across all levels of an organization. 
•    Proven track record of successful development, planning, execution and analysis of marketing programs.
