Position Summary

The Sr. Product Manager role creates, executes, and manages full-stream marketing efforts for the Respiratory business.  This role actively partners with sales leadership and the North America sales channels to ensure the execution and implementation of the marketing strategies to exceed growth projections.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day management of assigned product line(s), programs and sales support in the field. 
  • Create and manage programs to increase penetration and drive sales of existing products -- sales and product promotions, customer targeting.
  • Drive portfolio management; develop product pipeline and roadmap for assigned product franchises aligned with business unit strategic initiatives.
  • Lead product gating process for assigned portfolio and guide commercial regions through launch.
  • Develop content for core products and new product introductions including market development, training, education and sales / marketing collateral (publications, brochures, electronic media and marketing communication / education content).
  • Develop and / or consult on operational initiatives to improve cost, quality, product efficiencies, and profitability.
  • Develop, maintain and leverage key opinion leader (KOL) relationships for regional voice of customer (VOC) feedback and new idea generation process.
  • Create designated product line positioning and pricing strategy; and provide sales support such as sales materials, customer presentations, information for Request for Proposals (RFPs) and field communication.
  • Assist with creation and maintainenace of operating plan and budget for assigned product line(s).
  • Work with Demand Planning, Manufacturing, and Distribution to maintain high service levels.
  • Provide support, as needed, to the Regulatory Affairs team on local registration.
  • Attend tradeshow meetings and education workshops. Lead sales training efforts for assigned product line(s) at annual sales meetings and regional breakouts.
  • Adhere to and ensure the adherence of Teleflex Code of Ethics, all Company policies, rules, procedures, and housekeeping standards.

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required with areas of preference including marketing, biomedical engineering, business administration or other similar degree area. MBA preferred. Extensive related experience (eg Clinical) may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5-7+ years marketing experience in overall product portfolio management with limited supervision
  • Experience in regulated industry, specifically medical device and/or pharmaceutical, preferred

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

  • Comfort level in clinical environment (operating room, etc.). Demonstrated aptitude or prior experience with clinical terminology and general clinical practices in respiratory care and airway management is preferred.
  • Strong formal and informal communication skills. Ability to succinctly present information and influence in both one-one-one interactions and formal presentations to senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate practical application of successful marketing / business / portfolio management concepts and methodologies, as well as knowledge of measurement and analysis of commercial effectiveness.
  • Advanced understanding of factors that impact product center’s profitable performance and competitive advantage. (Revenue, Margin, ASP, Market Share Data, Pro-forma metrics, Market Definition)
  • Ability to drive focus, prioritization, and effective time/project management.
  • Proven ability to work with colleagues to drive consensus on product portfolio decisions. 
  • Ability to work in a lean environment without large infrastructure
