Position Summary

The Sr. Manager, Portfolio Strategy and Insights will be a part of a high energy team, whose singular focus is to drive product family strategies and front end of innovation (FEI) across business units (BU) enabling future global growth for Teleflex. This person will work across businesses, regions, and functions, as required, to make an impact and transform product portfolios across clinical call points.

This role will be a key change agent that will collaborate with Corporate and Business Unit leadership to help guide and shape growth strategies for key product families. This role is responsible for building the initial framework and elements needed to create robust product family strategies, as well as overseeing front-end innovation activities and developing innovation roadmaps to drive value realization through organic New Product Development, M&A, partnerships, and ventures.

This critical role requires a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between high-level corporate objectives and on-the-ground execution within the business units. By driving greater alignment and innovation across the product portfolio, the Sr. Manager, Portfolio Strategy and Insights will play an instrumental role in the company's long-term growth and success.
 

Principal Responsibilities

•    Build the initial framework, KPIs and key elements required for comprehensive product family strategies.
•    Co-develop product family strategies with business unit key stakeholders.
•    Facilitate workshop sessions to define future state aspirations and roadmaps for key product families.
•    Play an active role in building the framework and KPIs for enterprise portfolio health check. 
•    Serve as the key liaison between corporate strategy and business unit strategy teams, fostering collaboration and alignment across functions including Clinical Medical Affairs, R&D, marketing, finance, and operations.
•    Collaborate with corporate and business unit leadership to align product family strategies with overall corporate objectives and vision.
•    Continuously monitor portfolio performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to optimize performance and drive growth.
•    Conduct market analysis, competitive assessments, and customer insights to inform portfolio strategies and develop recommendations that optimize resource allocation and balance risk/reward.
•    Identify and assess opportunities for value realization via organic NPD, M&A, partnerships, and ventures, aligning innovation roadmaps with portfolio strategies and resource allocation plans.
•    Coordinate cross-functional teams to advance high-potential ideas through the innovation process and co-develop robust, long-term innovation roadmaps that drive growth and value creation.
•    Establish KPIs and metrics for success to measure the impact of innovation initiatives.

•    Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement across the organization, identifying opportunities for growth in core, adjacent, and transformative areas.
•    Communicate portfolio strategies, innovation roadmaps, and strategic plans to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
•    Co-ordination of project activities to ensure business and compliance needs are satisfied.
•    Adhere to and ensure the adherence of Teleflex Code of Ethics, all Company policies, rules, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
•    Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    MBA or equivalent advanced degree in business, engineering, or related field
•    10+ years of experience in strategic marketing, portfolio management, business strategy and/ or innovation roles
•    Proven track record of developing and executing portfolio strategies in a matrix organization 
•    Strong analytical skills and experience with market research, competitive intelligence, and financial modeling
•    Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
•    Ability to think strategically while also diving into operational details
•    Familiarity with innovation methodologies such as design thinking, lean startup, and agile
•    Experience with M&A, partnerships, joint ventures, and other inorganic growth levers
•    Experience in coordinating and conducting global research for innovation programs is also a plus.
•    Skilled in Microsoft Office software environment
