Position Summary

This position is responsible for the project management of the Product Life Cycle (PLC) Project within the Anesthesia & Emergency Medicine (AEM) business unit. This team member will play a critical role in optimizing and managing the product portfolio to ensure its long-term success across global markets. This role will require cross-functional collaboration, technical assessments, and strategic planning to drive portfolio optimization and business transformation initiatives. The Project Manager, PLC will need to demonstrate project ownership; guide teams through project planning, execution, and closure processes; and use professional project management concepts and frameworks in accordance with company objectives to solve complex problems in a creative and effective way.  

Principal Responsibilities

•    Global Portfolio Optimization & Lifecycle Management:
o    Drive execution of the current and on-going product lifecycle management projects within the Anesthesia & Emergency Medicine business unit by following the Teleflex Portfolio Optimization Process (POP). 
o    Plan and execute global business transformation initiatives related to product portfolio optimization, ensuring alignment with company strategy and market needs.
o    Track and lead the completion of necessary system and documentation updates.
•    Project Leadership & Execution:
o    Lead and drive key stakeholders in a collaborative environment, ensuring project deliverables meet target timelines and requirements.
o    Complete system updates as needed to support assigned projects.
o    Maintain and monitor project budgets, directing resources efficiently to complete initiatives effectively.
o    Develop and manage project plans, identify risks, and communicate mitigation activities.
o    Obtain and manage stakeholder alignment to scope and expected outcomes of portfolio optimization initiatives.
•    Strategic Market & Technical Evaluations:
o    Collaborate with Business Unit and Regional Marketing teams to evaluate product trends to assess market demand, product performance, and life cycle progression.
o    Work with R&D, Clinical & Medical Affairs (CMA) and Regulatory Affairs (RA) to conduct technical evaluations to determine if existing products should be retired, replaced, or maintained based on technological advancements, clinical utility, and regulatory compliance.
o    Liaise with Operations and Finance to quantify and plan for potential impacts of product lifecycle management decisions.


•    Presentations & Senior Leadership Engagement:
o    Prepare and present project updates and portfolio rationalization proposals, ensuring alignment with short- and long-term business goals and evolving market needs.
o    Present complex technical, operations, and business evaluations in a clear and concise manner to support executive decision-making.
•    Cross-Functional Collaboration & Governance:
o    Contribute to building a positive and action-oriented team culture.
o    Negotiate and resolve conflicts, driving decisions among cross-functional teams to achieve project and business objectives.
o    Lead workshops and meetings to facilitate business process development and optimization.
o    Ensure compliance with quality standards, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.

This role requires a strategic planner with the proven abilities to execute projects, analyze complex information, bridge technical and commercial considerations, and influence stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization. The Project Manager, Product Life Cycle will play a key role in shaping the business unit’s portfolio and driving long-term success in the anesthesia and emergency medicine markets.
 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    BS in Business or Engineering. 
•    Minimum of 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in project management working multi-year projects in medical device, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing in a regulated environment. 
•    PMP certified is desirable.
•    Demonstrated experience leading projects of complex systems with multiple partners.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Powerpoint, Sharepoint and project management software.
 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Knowledgable of lifecycle management planning, requirements and implementation. 
•    Experience with project and data management systems, including SmartSheet, Planview, and SAP is desirable.
•    Demonstrated customer relations, presentation, problem solving, and negotiation skills. 
•    Excellent leadership and communication skills a MUST.
•    Self-starter with strong proactive work ethic, well-organized and detail-oriented.
•    Proven ability to influence across functions, drive collaboration and lead change.

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Up to 20%, including potential international travel.
