Position Summary

The Procurement Leader, Mold Management will partner with the Technical Program Lead to drive the mold management program from a procurement perspective. This position is a critical commercial leadership role that will service multiple business units and a diverse mix of sites within North America, European Union, & APAC, while ensuring compliance to various corporate level-initiated activities. 
This role requires strong partnership and alignment with the technical mold management program lead. In conjunction with the technical team, the position will drive and/or support the overall Mold Management Program, while developing and implementing strategies for tooling suppliers worldwide that will reduce cost, improve quality & service levels, and mitigate risk to the overall enterprise. 

Principal Responsibilities

•    Supplier Management in collaboration with the technical program leader
•    Align with the Injection Molding Global Commodity Managers to ensure alignment to overall injection molding strategy
•    Develop relationships with key personnel at our strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders/customers
•    Initiate RFQ process with suppliers for new mold as per Mold Management Guidelines
•    Negotiating Quotations to ensure maximise value for Teleflex
•    Hold suppliers accountable to tooling/project timelines 
•    Develop strategies to identify best in class mold manufacturers to onboard
•    Work with existing suppliers to improve performance
•    Create dashboard for supplier selection using the Mold Management Playbook/Buy v Buy Template and supplier analysis
•    Manage systems to maintain records of purchased molds
•    Maintain an ability to generate and evaluate alternatives, analyze data, reach logical conclusions, and formulate recommendations for management review and consideration. 
•    Work cross functionally with the product development team to streamline the new product development process and minimize lead time to market.  Participate in design reviews to insure manufacturability of the components
•    Provide exceptional customer service to our customers, and distributors.
•    Support all corporate level purchasing related activities for the region to ensure compliance with internal procedures and policies as a publicly traded medical device manufacturer (Teleflex Code of Ethics, SOX, FDA, Conflict Minerals, etc.).
•    Perform other related duties as assigned.
 
 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
•    Minimum ten years of experience in management/supervision, buying, purchasing, supply chain management and supplier development in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
•    Strong understanding and knowledge of injection molding suppliers.
•    Possess a working understanding of international shipping and customs regulations.
•    Proven cost reduction track record.
•    Comprehensive understanding of MS Office suite required. 
•    Thorough knowledge of ERP, inter-functional relationships, purchasing techniques, and laws.  
•    Demonstrated planning, analytical, organizational and project management skills.

•    Strong Business Acumen.
•    Ability to communicate to all levels within the organization.
•    Leadership skills including the ability to develop, mentor and influence engineers and managers within and outside of span of management.
•    Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a remote cross functional team.
