Position Summary
The Packaging Co-op will work within the global packaging engineering group, assisting packaging engineers with various medical device packaging projects. The Packaging co-op will conduct package testing according to ASTM and/or ISTA standards and complete associated laboratory test reports. The Packaging Co-op will work on assignments associated with medical device packaging design that are at various stages of the design cycle.
Principal Responsibilities
• Assist packaging engineers with package design and qualification activities.
• Work directly with Teleflex corporate suppliers on package design.
• Assist packaging engineers with design control documentation and data mining.
• Assist with packaging laboratory equipment installation/validations as required.
• Conduct package testing according to ASTM and/or ISTA procedures.
• Complete sample builds to provide test samples for package testing.
• Complete packaging laboratory test reports as required.
• Assist with day-to-day operations of packaging laboratory.
Education / Experience Requirements
• Enrolled in a Packaging Science or Packaging Engineering curriculum.
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
• Basic computer knowledge (Word, Excel, Power Point) preferred.
• Knowledge of distribution simulation test methods/procedures preferred.
