Position Summary

In 2017 the EU announced a revision to the European medical device regulation commonly known as MDR. As a result, Teleflex will run a multi-year cross-functional project to support MDR compliance. We are searching for a Finance Manager who will own the reporting, planning, and analyzing of the MDR project.  The position will also be responsible for enhancing current processes as well as developing techniques to drive efficiencies.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Coordinate monthly/quarterly financial close; including preparation of journal entries and financial reports
  • Assist with detailed analysis of actual financial results vs. plan, forecast and prior year
  • Coordinate period financial reviews with the execution team to ensure proper financial forecasting and monitoring
  • Assist with preparation of annual plan, forecasts and strategic plan, including preparation of variance analyses
  • Assist with the development of a robust financial risk assessment process and actively maintaining financial risk register for all opportunities and costs related to the project
  • Partner with project leadership and workstreams to review financial forecasts
  • Make recommendations regarding process improvements and reporting enhancements
  • Develop and maintain standard work & templates
  • Other responsibilities/projects outlined by Senior Finance Manager and senior project management members
  • Ensure that all costs are correctly apportioned between Addback and “Normal” Operating expenses

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required and an Accounting Qualification
  • At least 5 years post qualification experience preferably in a large multinational at a Finance Manager level 
  • Experience in a matrix organization is an advantage

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

  • Strong analytical background in budgeting and forecasting
  • Generally accepted accounting principles and standards (GAAP)
  • Prior experience working on large projects in a highly regulated industry is an advantage
  • Ability to develop ad hoc reports as requested
  • SAP and Hyperion Financial Management strongly preferred
  • Strong Excel skills, adept with data manipulation
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written, with an ability to interact effectively at many levels in the organization
  • Desire to work in a fast-changing multinational environment
  • Excellent time management skills and comfortable working to strict deadlines
  • A self-starter with a proactive approach and attitude
  • People management skills
