Position Summary

As a product manager, you will have the exciting opportunity to shape the future of critical care and accelerate the growth of this strategy portfolio for Teleflex. As a Global Product Manager (GPM), you will develop, manage, and implement global marketing and product portfolio strategies to maximize long-range sales, margin, and operating profit objectives for the business unit through organic innovation activities and external acquisition opportunities.

As the portfolio owner, you will understand the global critical care market, its competitive landscape, and trends.  You will identify unmet customer needs in the space and support the Innovation Team’s efforts to solve these unmet needs via solution brainstorming and business plan development, ultimately getting the ideas through to the global Concept to Commercialization process.  You will ensure clear strategic alignment to and prioritization of the product roadmaps and facilitate cross-departmental activities supporting these objectives.

Conducting and maintaining an M&A landscape assessment to identify targets for potential acquisition to supplement organic product development, and support the unit’s long-term growth strategy will also be an important part of your role management this portfolio and driving the strategic direction of the business.

While in this role, you will actively partner with Global Strategic Marketing and Regional Commercial Marketing counterparts, R&D, Clinical & Medical Affairs, and other cross-functional stakeholders as appropriate to ensure the execution and implementation of the strategic growth and innovation strategies.

This is a hybrid position that will generally include three office-based days and two remote workdays/customer travel days per week.  
 

Principal Responsibilities

  • Support new product ideas/projects from customer insight/idea/concept to production.
  • Work extensively with customers to identify gaps and develop business case to address unmet needs globally (NA, EMEA, APAC, LATAM)
  • Understand, analyze and prioritize deep customer insights through primary and secondary market research.
  • Lead the development and maintanence of a robust pipeline for assigned global product portfolio, with the objective of meeting business needs from short-term revenue plans and margin commitments to long-term disruptive innovation to allow for accelerated growth and margin improvement. 
  • Collaborate with R&D, Clinical Medical Affairs, Project Management Office and other key stakeholders to guide new product development projects from concept to commercialization, including stage-gate process.
  • Monitor business/market trends, recommending appropriate action, and communicate to management.
  • Provide support for business development growth opportunities for the Vascular and Critical Care business unit.
  • In collaboration with manager, develop and implement strategic marketing plans to accelerate growth.
  • Communicate effectively with NPD Project teams, Global Marketing, R&D members and other partners.
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of competitive offering and strategies.
  • Drive idea and concept development process through critical market analysis and insights supported by global Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), market research and Voice of the Customer (VOC).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by immediate manager.
  • Adhere to and ensure the adherence of Teleflex Code of Ethics, all Company policies, rules, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
     

Education / Experience Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree is required with areas of preference including marketing, biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, human physiology, business administration or another similar degree area.  A minimum of three to five years of post-degree work experience in the field is expected. MBA is preferred.
  • Comfort level in medical/hospital environment, with demonstrated aptitude or prior experience with clinical terminology.
  • Demonstrated experience with innovation methodologies such as Stanford Biodesign, Jobs to be Done, or similar is preferred.

  • Demonstrate practical application of successful marketing / business / portfolio management concepts and methodologies, as well as assessment tools, practices and techniques
  • Knowledge of measurement and analysis of commercial effectiveness

  • Exhibit skills and knowledge in public speaking, human relations, and collaborative leadership
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills with relevant experience developing and accessing complex business models and diverse data sources 
  • Excellent relationship building and collaborative skills
  • Ability to work outside of normal hours as needed for global meetings
  • Comfortable in clinical environments (hospitals, patient room settings, operating room, etc.).
