Position Summary

Reporting to the Interventional Urology and Americas Deputy Compliance Officer, this key contact is responsible for Compliance oversight of and guidance for assigned business units commercial and medical activities as well as resellers (reseller due diligence, reviews, and approval, etc.).  

This position requires a high level of confidentiality, along with knowledge of laws and industry guidance, to ensure employees working in North and South America conduct their activities ethically and in Compliance with Applicable Laws and Codes. These include, without limitation, the Anti-Kickback Statute, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, False Claims Act, Sunshine Act, FD&C Act, Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) Code on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals, BIOTECanada Commercial Practice Standards.

The position can be located at any of the following Teleflex offices: Wayne, PA, Morrisville, NC, and Maple Grove, MN.

Principal Responsibilities

Ensure Compliance, Mitigate Risks

•    Candidate will be a business partner for strategic planning and guidance on issues about relevant business activities by Business Unit and country location, ensuring the business initiatives and objectives are met while being optimally compliant.  
•    Identify gaps and develop processes to mitigate risk and create efficiencies.
•    Mitigate risks by reinforcing established procedures, identifying and escalating issues, and developing and modeling business integrity and ethical behavior.
•    Produce and deliver live and online Compliance training for employees, distributors, service providers, and organizational leadership for assigned business units. 
•    Ensure engagements with HCPs related to Fee for Service Agreements are compliant with policies, procedures, industry guidance, and laws.
•    Experience with management of service operations supporting business and Compliance processes either as an internal business partner or external consulting.
•    Support global Compliance projects as needed.
•    Provide regional updates to Compliance management every week.

Investigations

•    Supervise and/or conduct investigations of allegations of potential violations of law, company policy, and/or the Code of Conduct and/or ethical standards.
•    Collaborate with investigatory and business stakeholders while maintaining strict confidentiality and integrity during the investigation process

Auditing/Monitoring 

•    Responsible for developing a risk assessment plan and assisting with the development of an auditing/monitoring plan for areas of responsibility that align with Global Auditing and Monitoring plan.
•    Execute live monitoring and data auditing by using available resources while being mindful of budget constraints.  
•    Responsible for ongoing communication to Senior Management regarding the status of risk and auditing plans and providing recommendations to meet goals as well as periodic updates to C-Suite management. 
•    Work closely with Internal Audit for transaction auditing functions.  
•    Conduct and prepare for internal and external Compliance audits and direct implementation of corrective action solutions.

Communications

•    Responsible for developing communications to help support and reinforce the business commitment to promote an environment of compliance, integrity, and ethics.  
•    Develop and execute Compliance communications to keep areas of responsibility up to date with Compliance activities.

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree is required, with a degree in Healthcare, Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field being a plus. Advanced degrees and/or certifications is a plus.
•    3 to 5+ years of experience in medical device, pharmaceuticals, or other related healthcare industries required.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
•    Experience with management of service operations supporting business and Compliance processes either as an internal business partner or external consulting.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
•    Excellent interpersonal and management skills; Ability to lead, inspire, and build a high-performance team.
