Position Summary

As a Business Systems Specialist, you will analyze complex business problems to be solved with automated systems. You will work with a team of system analysts and with internal customers to identify gaps and provide technical expertise in business requirements for system functional specifications. You will help to develop the existing Enterprise Project & Portfolio Management System with supporting processes and procedures to satisfy the needs of the business in an effective manner. You will be responsible for planning configuration of the system, executing per plan, integration and acceptance testing to meet business requirements. You will work with internal teams to gather requirements and identify solutions to meet their needs while not adversely impacting on existing processes and practices. In this role you will be
required to lead cross-functional teams to address business or systems issues.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Become the Teleflex SME for Planview, the enterprise project portfolio management (EPPM) solution for Teleflex.
  • Develop expert knowledge of system configuration and capability
  • Manage the ongoing implementation and enhancement of the Planview system
  • Ensure ongoing system upgrades in line with vendor software releases and coordination of all related UAT activities
  • Full project life cycle ownership for system upgrades and specific implementations across the business
  • Collaborate with Teleflex PMO/BU/functional leads and project team members to ensure that the EPPM solution is configured by the vendor to support Teleflex’s project and business processes
  • Work with PMO Business Partners to define project requirements and agree roll out milestones and delivery plan
  • Understand interdependencies between various projects, operations and business needs
  • Manage system change requests, working with requestors to understand needs, and assess impact to the system and existing business processes
  • Facilitate change control committee to ensure changes are clearly communicated and approved
  • Develop reports and dashboards for projects and programs using Planview reporting and Power BI integrations
  • Partner with Teleflex IT / Help Desk for ongoing system administration and oversight including user onboarding, system performance tracking, security updates, and enhancement request management
  • Investigate solution issues, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective measures
  • Ongoing development, documentation and dissemination of EPPM processes communicated through user forums
  • Participate in the Teleflex Project Manager Community of Practice to contribute to establishing best practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand and mature project management capabilities for the organization

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor (or equivalent) degree in a Business or Information Systems discipline
  • 5 years minimum related experience with a Bachelor 
  • PM qualification required
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Preferred
  • Demonstrated aptitude with general technology and business process analysis required
