Position Summary

The Accounts Receivable (A/R) Analyst – Deductions will confirm, investigate, analyze, and solve all deduction-related transactions that occur in the assigned accounts receivable portfolio.  This position will work to proactively manage the workflow process and ensure that team KPIs are met and be responsible to reduce the number of deductions by working with customers and partners at Teleflex to fully root cause the reason and implement new processes to reduce the number of deductions month over month.  This position will be customer-facing and require interaction with internal and external partners in a positive and fact-finding manner.  

Principal Responsibilities

•    Review and research the daily volume of accounts receivable deductions, categorize, and code them with the goal to close them as required by the policy.
•    Monitor customer portals as needed to ensure the flow of deductions does not expand over time and make recommendations to improve this process.
•    Work as a partner with Credit & Collections to solve patterns of customer payment behavior that result in long-term ongoing deductions.
•    Collaborate with contracts and customer service as needed to root causes and correct issues that result in deductions or cash application issues. 
•    Provide reporting to all partners that clearly explains the reason for deductions and how to reduce and improve them.   
•    Evaluate process on a quarterly basis and ensure compliance with overall policy and make recommendations for changes to policy as business environment and portfolios change. 
•    Understand the credit quality of customers who are taking ongoing deductions and link credit risk to deductions to reduce Teleflex’s AR Exposure over time. 
•    Manage portfolio in a way to reduce overall deductions measurably over time. 
•    Report ideas related to process improvement and report patterns of deductions by the customer that may be solved in collaboration with other partners at Teleflex. 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor’s Degree - in Finance or Accounting preferred.
•    3+ years of accounts receivable and or deductions experience.
•    Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures with a basic understanding of corporate credit risk.
•    SAP Proficiency Preferred. ERP and CRM software experience are a strong plus.
