Position Summary

Supervise the day-to-day activities of the Quality Control Inspectors in order to expedite the flow of components and products through the facility and to our customers.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Ensure the compliance of the inspectors' performance to written procedures and inspection criteria specific to the Maple Grove facility.
•    Plan and direct the daily workflow, priority of inspection, and work assignments to assure timely inspection of the workload at the Maple Grove location.
•    Maintain exceptional service levels to internal customers to ensure components & products arrive to customers when they are needed. 
•    Embrace Continuous Improvement activities to improve efficiencies in QC function, eliminating waste or non-value add activities.  
•    Work with internal customers and external suppliers to streamline & update processes and procedures.
•    Periodically audit inspection records for compliance to procedures, accuracy, and completeness at the Maple Grove site.
•    Review inspection records and supervisor the release of finished goods produced and sterilized by the plant.
•    Answer inspection technique questions and address questionable inspection result issues.
•    Initiate and facilitate nonconformance investigations relating to incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods. 
•    Responsible for the resolution and execution of material disposition relating to nonconformances.
•    Responsible for performing inspection queue maintenance in SAP (cleanup of open inspections and issues) on a frequent basis.
•    Train the inspectors at Maple Grove on the quality system, procedures, inspection techniques, and documentation techniques.
•    Perform annual employee performance reviews for all quality assurance inspectors at Maple Grove.
•    Provide other departmental support as requested by the immediate supervisor at Maple Grove.
 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    4 year college degree in scientific or technical field preferred.
•    3-5 years supervisory experience preferred.
•    3-5 years experience in Medical Device Quality (or similar field) preferred; experience in Receiving Inspections processes preferred.
 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Experience with Measure, Monitor, and Improve processes required.
•    Experience with common dimensional measurement tools and techniques preferred.
•    Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred. 
•    Strong data processing and analysis skills preferred. 
•    Experience with Agile / SAP platform preferred. 
•    Experience with Agile document management system preferred. 
•    ASQ or CQI certifications preferred. 
•    QMS experience preferred.
•    Tensile test, Micro Vu, Laser micrometer experience preferred.
