Interventional - The Interventional business unit at Teleflex offers innovative medical devices that are used to diagnose and treat coronary and peripheral vascular diseases. We place a strategic emphasis on complex coronary and peripheral interventions, vascular access, bone access, specialty biologic treatments and cardiac assist. Our current Interventional products include a broad range of clinically relevant solutions, such as our GuideLiner® and Turnpike® Catheters, AC3 Optimus™ Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump and OnControl® Powered Bone Access System. With a strong R&D footprint and pipeline, our fast-growing Interventional business unit is poised to continue the development of new technologies to serve critically ill patients for years to come. Position Summary
Works with Design, Product, and Process Development Engineering to develop new product designs/concepts that meet market and regulatory requirements
Principal Responsibilities
• Applies engineering and scientific principles while generating product designs/concepts.
• Manage multiple projects and maintain on schedule.
• Complete protocols and reports and transfer qualified new products/processes to Operations.
• Build finished devices for design development and verification.
• Clearly presents ideas and data both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrates excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Builds partnerships and collaborates with others to meet shared objectives.
• Works effectively in a diverse group, respecting different ideas, perspectives and values.
Note: 95% of this job involves direct R&D activities
Education / Experience Requirements
• BA/BS in Engineering or physical sciences required
• Two years of related experience required
Specialized Skills / Other Requirements
• Familiarity with various materials and processes, such as extrusion processing, injection molding, machine shop operations, fixtures and tooling, adhesive and thermal bonding and various other processes for catheter fabrication and design required.
• Must possess knowledge, understanding and skills in: generating new product designs/concepts, catheter materials, processes and design plus test methods and metrology; project management, documentation, and a working knowledge of quality systems and medical device regulations.
Works as an extended team member with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Operations, Design Assurance, Regulatory, and R&D to develop medical devices.
