Interventional - The Interventional business unit at Teleflex offers innovative medical devices that are used to diagnose and treat coronary and peripheral vascular diseases. We place a strategic emphasis on complex coronary and peripheral interventions, vascular access, bone access, specialty biologic treatments and cardiac assist. Our current Interventional products include a broad range of clinically relevant solutions, such as our GuideLiner® and Turnpike® Catheters, AC3 Optimus™ Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump and OnControl® Powered Bone Access System. Position Summary

Provide technical leadership and expertise in the development of medical devices for new products across the Coronary, Peripheral, Structural Heart, and Mechanical Circulatory Support franchises.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Provide cross-functional technical leadership for large scale development projects through partnerships with:
o    Product Development in clearly defining scope and product requirements and successfully transitioning projects from ideation into new product development.
o    Process Development to develop product designs that are reliable and manufacturable.
o    Design Assurance to ensure product safety through design characterization, design verification, and design validation testing.
o    Sustaining Engineering to transfer design knowledge and commercial support ownership as products enter the market.
•    Lead/Support research and development activities from Concept through Commercialization.
•    Generate new product designs/concepts in a Stage Gate Process.
•    Drive definition and articulate appropriate justification/rationale for design decisions.
•    Provide work direction, technical guidance, coaching and mentorship to R&D engineers.
•    Perform/Lead root cause analysis activities.
•    Develop functional project plans/schedules and accountable for their execution.

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Biomedical or Materials Science Engineering preferred.
•    8+ years of related medical device experience required or 6 years of experience with a Master’s degree.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Detailed knowledge and expertise of Design Control per ISO 13485, 21 CFR 820, and EU MDR Requirements.
•    Knowledge, understanding, and skills in: generating new product designs/concepts, materials, processes, test methods, documentation, and quality systems.
•    Knowledge of clinical applications and associated product requirements with the ability to translate these requirements into detailed specifications. 
•    Experience leveraging the diversity within a group to improve performance and results.
•    Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional leaders and Sr. Management.
