Interventional - The Interventional business unit at Teleflex offers innovative medical devices that are used to diagnose and treat coronary and peripheral vascular diseases. We place a strategic emphasis on complex coronary and peripheral interventions, vascular access, bone access, specialty biologic treatments and cardiac assist. Our current Interventional products include a broad range of clinically relevant solutions, such as our GuideLiner® and Turnpike® Catheters, AC3 Optimus™ Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump and OnControl® Powered Bone Access System. Position Summary
As the Business Unit President for the Interventional business, you will have strategic ownership of this business and be responsible for generating significant value for our customers and patients. Additionally, this position is responsible for delivering an exemplary employee and customer experience aligned with the Teleflex Core Values. This new leader will also influence, sustain, and grow customer relations activities that advance the Interventional Business Unit’s growth strategies. You will work with the board, C-Suite, and across the organization to align, collaborate and execute to goals and objectives necessary to add value for Teleflex.
The President and General Manager maintains overall P&L responsibility and drives results throughout the Interventional business to achieve growth targets. This role formulates overall strategic and operating plans, business goals, and objectives and ensures effective implementation and execution of strategies and tactics to achieve long-term and short-range objectives.
We expect you will bring to Teleflex strong network connections across the sector that can be leveraged to grow the business, drive revenue, and increase profitability. We’re also interested in a seasoned leader who can bring innovative and industry-disruptive thinking with executable strategies that can quickly deliver results globally.
This role will be part of the Americas leadership, with expectations to develop existing and future Interventional portfolio offerings through organic and inorganic product opportunities. Success will be measured by senior leadership, employee and customer satisfaction results, revenue growth, P&L management, and global engagement.
Principal Responsibilities
• Formulate and implement business plans and strategies for profitable operations, to meet short-term objectives and to ensure long-term growth and success.
• Manage the Interventional business P&L against set corporate and group targets and parameters.
• Drive continuous improvement and aligned objectives in all commercial business areas (Sales, Marketing, R&D, PMO) to deliver financial performance and a strong, healthy culture.
• Collaborate with functional business partners, including Clinical Medical Affairs, Finance, Business Development, Global Operations, Global Regulatory and Quality Affaris, Human Resources, and Distribution to ensure regulatory compliance and service to customers.
• Ensure appropriate training and development opportunities are available to the Interventional Leadership team and create a culture of development for the broader Interventional Business.
• Hold the Interventional Leadership Team and the overall organization to high-performance standards to ensure an effective, productive work environment.
• Work with the Business Development team to identify strong merger and acquisition opportunities aligned with the broader Teleflex strategic growth model.
• Demonstrate leadership to engage and encourage employees to support a positive culture.
• Establish and maintain an effective organizational structure to ensure the development and continuity of managerial and specialized skills necessary to accomplish objectives and achieve results. Recommend changes in the organizational structure to meet evolving business demands.
• Prepare, manage, and maintain the annual budget.
• Develop an ongoing strategic plan (3 – 5 year horizon)
• Adhere to and ensure compliance with the Code of Ethics, all Company policies, rules, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
Education / Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree preferred
• Minimum 15 years in the Medical Device field with a clear progression of increased responsibility and experience in a commercial function of the organization
• Demonstrated leadership and reputation for developing and growing consistently strong bench strength and talent throughout the organization
• Exceptional experience, global mindset, and cultural agility that enhances interpersonal relationships.
