Position Summary

Full time internship during the summer with potential to continue support part-time through holidays/school year. This position is responsible for supporting the quality assurance department in the areas of: incoming, in-process and validation sample testing on components, the creation to closure on nonconformances, labeling verifications, and device history file release. Processes to be completed in accordance with Mansfield site and Global Teleflex procedures.  

Principal Responsibilities

•    Becomes thoroughly knowledgeable relative to the specifications, standards, and required quality systems in assigned area. Writes/Revises procedures and specifications as necessary.
•    Perform incoming, in-process sample inspection and testing per the respective Mansfield or Teleflex Global work instruction or procedures.
•    Perform testing per validation protocols on validation samples.
•    Document test results and other testing related paperwork per Good Documentation Practice.
•    Completes all testing related activities in compliance with FDA and ISO 13485 regulations and safety guidelines.   
•    Supports the associate quality engineer with the creation and processing of Mansfield site nonconformances when required. 
•    Supports the associate quality engineer with calibration activities.
•    Provide other departmental support as requested by the immediate supervisor/manager.
•    Review Device History Records for accuracy per applicable procedure.
•    Support data collection process under improvement projects identified.
•    Support and interaction within the Mansfield, Nuevo Laredo and Coventry sites for required data analysis and reporting to help the team make decisions. 
•    Perform inspection on labels printed for production use when requested.
•    Adhere to and ensure the compliance of Quality System, Teleflex’s Code of Conduct, all Company policies, safety rules, applicable procedures, and housekeeping standards.
 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Highschool graduate currently pursuing Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or Science related field 
•    Knowledge and experience of working in the medical device industry or manufacturing environment preferred.
 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Outlook, Word, Power Point and Excel
•    Experience with the ERP system SAP and Minitab preferred.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels in the organization required.
•    Accurate typing and data entry skills required.
•    Ability to work independently and efficiently.
•    Basic statistics knowledge preferred. 
•    Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and maintain accuracy.
