Position Summary

Teleflex Coventry is looking for a first-floor team lead to provide effective guidance to operators. You will be responsible for guiding and motivating team members daily.  As a team lead, you will be the first point of contact for production operators, therefore strong communication skills are required. The Team Lead also works closely with the Production Supervisor to ensure that goals set for quality, safety, productivity, and operators’ training are met.  Under the guidance of the Production Supervisor, you should also be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration within the group as well as with other departments. Leadership by setting a good example is vital for the success of the person in this position.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
•    Set clear team goals
•    Ability to delegate production tasks
•    Oversee day-to-day operations of operators
•    Monitor team performance and report on metrics
•    Verifying production operator paperwork is filled out accurately and completely
•    Verifying kits for customer orders and maintaining production lists
•    Motivate team members
•    Willingness to collaborate with anyone
•    Discover training needs and provide coaching
•    Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts and escalate to next level when necessary
•    Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments
•    Using computers for appropriate tasks.
•    Ability to work in various production areas as an operator or to fill in gaps in production
•    Ensure all procedures are being followed by production operators
•    Ability to train operators to various production processes
•    Willingness to become TWI certified
•    Willingness to go through various trainings which align with best manufacturing practices, safety, etc.
•    Follow safety, manufacturing, and QA procedures and requirements, including compliance with QSR and ISO regulations.
•    Document process data and parameters as required by MP/QSR
•    Understand and use measuring equipment; calipers, micrometers, rulers,  scales, counters, snap gauges, ring gauges, pins and other gauging following prescribed procedures to meet high quality specifications

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Minimum of High School diploma or GED  
•    Technical background preferred
•    1+ Years of manufacturing experience preferred
•    Previous supervisory experience a plus

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, Outlook. Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP system is a plus.
•    Strong written, verbal, and analytical abilities required; ability to read, write and speak English
•    Excellent communication skills with peers, managers and production employees
•    Must be well-organized with high attention to detail
•    Excellent time management skills
•    Ability to sucessfully multi-task and prioritize
•    Ability to work with build relationships and successfully communicate with people at all levels
