Position Summary
Lead and co-ordinate all activities required for the VS to achieve the business plan requirements for Operations.
Principal Responsibilities
• Build and manage a high performing operations team for the value stream
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement using OPEX and Lean Manufacturing principles
• Drive employee engagement and motivation, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability
• Ability to influence cross functional teams & manage relationships with key stakeholders
• Build collaborative relationship with suppliers, customers and key stakeholders in company
• Ability to lead large scale organisational changes
• Organise resources for the VS, balancing both long term (NRE) and Short Term (Shipping Plan) requirements
• Coach & develop leaders in the value stream (production leads / supervisors)
• Ability to lead the VS in setting strategic goals and priorities, aligning operations strategy with business objectives
• Deep understanding of headcount and capacity planning for demand forecasting
• Proactively engage in new product development to ensure a smooth transition into commercial production
• Own and deliver the Safety, Quality, Service and Cost metric for the VS
• Aligns goals and objective setting for the VS in collaboration with senior leadership
• Manage all performance related matters so that the team achieves the required standards
• Participate in recruitment and selection activities as required by the company.
• Work with support departments to deliver productivity improvements.
• Responsible for the Contract Review process for non-Development/Engineering related orders, to ensure that such orders can be processed with optimal efficiency, effectiveness and adherence to customer and quality requirement.
• Work with customer services on provision of information for the purpose of attracting new business.
• Work with the relevant departments to deal with customer issues surrounding complaints, queries, credit issues, on time delivery and any other production related topics which customers need assistance with from time to time.
• Strong understanding of medical device regulations
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure Quality and EHS policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
Education / Experience Requirements
• Relevant third level degree
• Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role
• Deep understanding of costs management
• Understanding of Finance - Profit and Loss
• Planning and Organisation skills - Planning labour, materials and equipment availability
• Understanding of Teleflex Quality system
• Understand if employment law, natural justice and appreciation of fairness
• Understanding of employee engagement, motivation and Leadership
• Basic understanding of process validations/FMEA's and protocols
