Position Summary

The Manufacturing Technician will utilise their technical skills in supporting the manufacture of medical device products and maintaining process and manufacturing technologies within their area of responsibility.

Principal Responsibilities

•    Ensure Quality and EHS policies and procedures are adhered to always
•    Work closely with Team Leads to plan and prioritise planned changeovers and equipment setups that occur daily
•    Ensure where applicable, that downtime and process issues are communicated and handed over between shifts in an effective manner
•    Demonstrate an attitude of knowledge sharing within the technician group with respect to equipment and processes 
•    Day to Day Manufacturing and Process support, including but not limited to-

o    Making dies 
o    Heater bands 
o    Changeovers/Set ups                        
o    Look after tooling stocks – heater bands, dies, etc
o    Structured Problem solving                               
o    Dies/grind pins/Mandrels         
o    Set ups on various equipment
o    Design & Drawing of jigs & fixtures

•    Work within the technician and wider engineering group in providing solutions to systematic downtime and process issues
•    Work with the wider group in the Value Stream in identifying opportunities for yield and cost saving improvements 
•    Support CIP project activities within the Value Stream 
•    Support ECA activities within the Value Stream 
•    Updating procedures / docs in line with DCR changes etc
•    Maintaining a clean and efficient work area (6S)
•    Re-organisation of tooling storage and tooling control systems
•    Maintenance of controlled tooling drawings
•    Liaison with tool suppliers and external contractors
•    Maintenance of PM schedules as applicable
•    Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements
•    IQ/OQ of new equipment 

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Engineering or relevant manufacturing 3rd level qualification 
•    Basic understanding of Catheter bonding, extrusion, and catheter making processes.
•    Basic understanding of validations.

•    Good Problem Solving Skills
•    Self-Starter with the ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision and with drive and enthusiasm for quality and yield improvements.
•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•    Ability to work in a fluid, demanding environment
•    Understanding and appreciation of Teleflex ethics standards
•    Thorough understanding of Teleflex processes and products
•    Knowledge and experience of working in the medical devices industry
