Position Summary

Principal Responsibilities

  • Ensure Kulim Approved Supplier List is accurate and reflective of supply base.
  • Remediate Kulim Supplier History Files.
  • Coordinate with Global Procurement Buyers, Strategic Sourcing, Facility Buyers, and Facility Quality Assurance to provide the appropriate supplier quality support for the purchase of Commodities, PFG’s, and Critical Services.
  • Perform supplier compliance and qualification functions and activities for prospective new commodity, PFG, and critical service suppliers.
  • Perform supplier development activities with suppliers of defective materials including developing and executing Supplier Quality Plans, conducting “For-Cause” Audits, SCAR follow-up, coordinating Business Reviews, and implementing Six-Sigma and Continuous Improvement methods and techniques.
  • Resolve ineffective supplier corrective action plans with suppliers.
  • Coordinate supplier change requests.   
  • Lead supplier related activities in support of business objectives. 
  • Provide Lead Auditor accountability within the audit program. 
  • To serve as subject matter expert in the area of problem solving methodologies
  • Provide training to different levels of the organization on problem solving methodologies/root cause analysis and to develop investigation skills.
  • Provide other departmental support requested by immediate supervisor.
  • Adhere to and ensure the compliance of Teleflex Code of Conduct, all Company policies, rules, procedures and housekeeping standards.
  • Support Supplier Performance Monitoring program.
  • Perforam any other relevant and related responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time as required by superior.

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Material Science or other relevant field(s)
  • Prefer 3-5 years of experience working within regulated industries.
  • Medical Device experience an advantage.
  • Advanced problem solving and root cause analysis.
  • Subject Matter Expert in Purchasing Controls preferred.
  • 3rd party auditor/engineering certification highly desired.
  • Minimum 3 years of auditing experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of ISO 13485 & QSR 21 CFR Part 820.
  • Process molding expertise is highly desirable.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Experience with Visio, Access, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, statistical applications
  • Team facilitation skills.
