Position Summary

Principal Responsibilities

•    Design and develop manufacturing processes for enhancements, product changes, and new products, and related fixtures and tooling that are consistent with zero defect level and low product cost. 
•    Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance to ensure line extension and product tooling requirements to ensure effective transfer of production processes and methods. 
•    Ensure that all operations carried out are within the specifications as written in the procedures and work instructions
•    Monitor and control department’s performance to reduce waste, improve efficiency and quality of output at all operations.
•    Ensure that process parameters are within control.  Liaise with Engineering and Quality personnel when equipments or process parameters are out of control.
•    Ensure all NCR (Non Conformances Report) are investigated and close on time.
•    Ensure all inventory of materials in production are accurate and maintain at target levels.
•    Develop and inculcate quality awareness and teamwork among all the production employees.
•    Perform performance evaluation of subordinates reporting to him / her.
•    Analyze manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput. 
•    Upkeep and maintain production areas using 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
•    Support company policies and procedures, goals and objectives, FDA regulations, and good manufacturing practices.
•    Perform any other relevant and related responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time as required by superior.

Education / Experience Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college. 
•    Master’s degree in manufacturing related engineering field is an added advantage.
•    Minimum of 5-10 years’ experience in manufacturing organization.
•    Operate at senior level in a manufacturing organization and makes decision on product and process changes. 
•    Experience in project management in a medical device organization.
•    Previously worked in a lean manufacturing organization.
•    Familiar with FDA requirement on medical device regulation.

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

•    Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing concepts. 
•    Must be a good communicator. 
•    Ability to prioritize multiple projects. 
•    Enthusiastic, cooperative, and positive behavior.
•    Creative and analytical thinker.
•    Strong leadership.
•    Must be able to communicate fluently (written and verbal) in English and Malay Language.
•    Exposed to Quality Engineering tools and techniques, e.g. SPC and Minitab.
•    Knowledge in Process Validation.
